Pick 8 Jarred Jefferies +3mm in cash to Minnesota

Pick 8 Brian Cardinal picks 18-28 and 46 to NY

18-B J Mullens 7-1 260
28 Derrick Brown 6-9 225
46 Paul Harris 6-4 240

If Phoenix blows up offer Steve Nash 3 years 17.5mm from the MLE
Resign David Lee
Let Nate go

hmm, instead of Mullens a pg (Teague, Maynor, Lawson) and I wouldn't be upset (Cardinal is an ending contract right)

whatever happens in this draft, we need to come out of it with a pg

So Minnesota is gonna trade 3 picks plus take on Jeffries while trading an expiring deal.

Yeah...no.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Wasn't Mullens given a promise by Chicago at 16?

So you think McHale not an idiot but mentally retarded?
Then this should work.

To get to 8 in this draft--I think that the deal I laid out is plausible. I think Minnesota would be happier with two lottery picks and that is the cost.

To me it's pretty simple--I think we have so many holes that IF Curry is not there---then I would seriously look at scenarios where I can either get 1 later mid range pick a second rounder and a 2010 pick and move Jefferies[even if I had to throw in 2-3mm] There are two target teams to look at this year Chicago and Minnesota
and my bet is teams are looking at them--if we do NOT think we can get Curry than we should be looking at it. Getting rid of a contract and getting 2 value picks isnt a bad option

Update your archives. McHale is not part of the organization anymore.

I would rather have the combination of Mullens and Brown over any one player in this draft-Griffin Curry and Thabeet.

Lets see in 3 years how good Brown and Mullens are in the NBA.

i agree w/GK, this is not a realistic scenario for MIN... giving up 3 1st rounders for a #8 is hard enough, but to get them to take on Fishlips' contract too is asking way too much... if u substituted Mobley's contract in place or Fishlips then i can maybe see a possibility.

don't agree.

$3M usually will get you a #28, and you are saying that a #8 is not worth the #18 and a mid-second rounder?

huh? i don't even get what you're saying here... what i said was that you're asking MIN to take on Fishlips' $7 million dollar salary in 2010 that comes w/a trade kicker in this deal on top of giving up 3 1st round picks for a #8... you're not buying any picks in that scenario, you're asking the other team to pay you about $7-8 mil to take their picks in return... how is that reasonable to you?

like i said if u were offering them a monetary savings here in the form of Mobley's contract i can see MIN making the deal because we'd be in effect purchasing those picks from them.

18+28+46=isn't even pick 8 +3mm--you have to be kidding me. Let me see the teams willing to pay 3mm for pick 28 THIS YEAR--not happening.

Essentially a pick in the late teens a very late one and s econd rounder that they would probaly dump anyway since they have 2 of them. They get 3mm to take car of Jefferies contract next year as well. If they like a player at 8--this is a fair price

18,28,46 - Not terrible - would suck the oxygen out of the garden for yet another year.

Mullens Beaubois Aminu would probably be my killer combo with those picks
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Remember that the reason Brown is not a high pick is because he didn't bring it every night.
