in an interview this morning he said the following:

- jordan hill is dropping and the knicks want him

- blair and mullens are not ready for the 9th pick

- blake, rubio, thabeet, harden, evans, curry will be gone by 9

- raps are looking at derozan, henderson, holliday, flynn and james johnson, along with jordan hill - one of them will be a raptor...

I don't think Jordan Hill would be an improvement over David Lee immediately but do think it would be possible in a couple seasons. Having said that the last Arizona big man the Knicks drafted was Channing Frye. His stats were good with his minutes bump: 18.7, 11 and 1.7 but his point per shot also fell from 1.52 to 1.32.

I can see why scouts would sour on him (namely his inefficiency in the tournament) but I also think he was rated as a top-four prospect for the majority of the season and is always giving it his all

Did Rod Thorn have nerve talking about it last year?

I'd be surprised if this wasn't true... Thorn did the same thing last year saying the Knicks wanted Gallinari bad.

Drlaftilng Jordan Hill @ #8 is not the end of the world. It actually spares the Knicks the pressure to resign Lee. Jordan Hill is one of the more NBA ready guys in the draft. He's gonna bring it on both ends and he is gonna run. Nothing to worry about.

Imagine a fast break, Hill gets out and runs, duhon finds him for the easy bucket, but the ball bounces off his tiny hands, and he kicks it off his knee out of bounds.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I agree with you. The knicks have a lot of options in this draft. I still think they should trade up and take what they want. If Rubio is what they really want then they should go all out and get him. Same goes for Curry. If the Knicks walk out of this draft with:

Rubio
Curry
Hill
Evans
Harden
Flynn
Jennings
Derozan
Thabeet
Johnson
Evans

I can live with it.

I absolutely agree with you. He reminds me too much of Mikki Moore.

Bip, what do you think of Hill and who are you looking at in this draft?

Yes. I see the same type of game in both players. I'm not saying Mikki Moore is a bad player, but I wouldnt draft him in the Top10. Now obviously he has a bit more skills but I don't see enough to warrant drafting him that hight.

Bip, what do you think of Hill and who are you looking at in this draft?

I don't like any of the Arizona guys. That team had Hill and Buddinger two sure fire first rounders and possible lottery picks. Add on top of that you had Nic Wise who may also be an NBa player. Yet somehow they struggled all season long. That worries me. I like Hill's talent, I think he's going to be a solid player, but I don't see star when I see Hill. I see a tough guy(not sure why people think he's soft) that will be one of those nice hustle guys(like D.Lee) but that's about it. Not a game changer. I like his shot blocking but the few games I saw I thought his defense was horrendous.

You never know though nowadays. I remember the knock against Cliff Robinson his senior year was that he was lazy, didn't try hard, had ego problems, was inconsistent, would float in and out of games, low IQ, no passion etc. He got to the NBA and all of that went out of the window. He was inspired by how far he dropped in the draft, got into a good situation for him and proved everyone wrong.

For me, this is a tough draft. I fall in and out of love with everyone. There is no one I would move up to get(besides Griffin). At 8, I'd be happy with Curry, Derozan, Holliday, Flynn and all the other usual suspects. If I had to pick one without the fear of bombing on the pick but instead basing it purely on upside, I probably take Derozan, but I'm not upset about any of these guys. This draft is too even. Personally I like the idea of trading down and trying to angle for Mullen and one of the remaining PG's. I don't think there is a lot of difference between #1 and #8 on this list.
I just hope that people will like me

Vmart that list sounds ok but just bear in mind this is a weak weak draft for big men, we need to relize these guys are probably not going to develope into impact players, which is why a number of teams are listning to possible trades. Hill really can turn into a lonnie baxter, chris wilcox, mikkie more type player. I would definetly have a problem with him. Like bip said az played poorly all season long

like i said in the other thread, if Hill drops to 8 i think the Knicks are gonna take him & trade him to OKL for Rubio along w/another asset, possibly the Mobley contract with OKL sending back filler... that type of deal would save OKL at least $16 mil on salary altogether after u figure in the insurance savings on Mobley's deal
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
