“Paul Harris may have helped himself the most I thought here. He plays so hard. He got in everyone’s face. No one wanted to go against him. On offense and defense. On top of that, his measurements were ridiculous. He came up a bit shorter than expected—only 6-3 in shoes, but his wingspan is outrageous—6-11 ½. He’s also absolutely jacked at 237 pounds, all 100% muscle. On top of that, he measured a no step vertical of 36 inches, which is off the charts. He’s like Ron Artest.

“Chase Budinger was awful in my opinion. He just doesn’t play. All he wants to do is shoot jumpers. That’s not basketball. He didn’t want to be there. Didn’t want to compete. He couldn’t put it on the floor. You should have seen his face when he was switched onto Paul Harris. He definitely didn’t want anything to do with him. “

This is the type of player we need--obviously not at 8 but this type of mentality. Forget Blair--hopefully we can get Harris later on or if he is not drafted. We need toughness. This team is like a bunch of chickens and everyone here knows it.

he won't be drafted - he'd make a good bench player for certain situations
might make more $ in Europe though

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

He's basically Shannon Brown. But a good bench/developmental guy.

He's one of those guys will get drafted by the Miami Heat and end up being an impact player and better than 75% of players picked in round 1.

yeah, paul harris seems like a vastly underrated player. the wingspan + vertical are just absurd, combined with his strength. he would probably be one of the strongest guards in the NBA from day 1. i love the idea and getting another pick to get harris, that kind of toughness on the perimeter would be a great thing to have.

I was giving a shout out to the poster john wallace

As to the player--Paul Harris is the kind of guy that gets disregarded because he cant do certain things but what he does bring to the table are some qualities that help teams win games. I wrote down awhile ago that we should pick him up for the SL team with Morris Almond but he might just be worthy of a pick around 47-57 if we can get one on the absolute cheap. He is obviously one of the top 3 athletes in the draft--he is made for uptempo games--he is mentally and physically tough and can defend with power athleticism and intimidation. I saw it the second he was playing his freshmen year---players from opposing teams are fearful of him. I just think we need that element back on this team. Thats what a lot of Knick fans associate with--defense rebounding intimidation but what Paul Harris can do is also play uptempo basketball. He's the kind of guy you want on your team. He's not going to be hitting 7 three's but hes a guy you canb bring off the bench and put on the opposing 2-3 man who is going off on you--bring in the D and the energy--make other guys on the team go harder.

Skill wise Harris is a beast, but I have heard from my brother(he knows some people who know Harris-he's from my way in Niagara Falls) that Harris is the exact opposite of JFlynn.

While Flynn is exactly the type of guy you like-personable, easy going, he worked hard for EVERYTHING he got-Harris is the exact opposite. Harris was given everything he got and is the prototypical spoiled athlete that feels he deserves everything because he can hoop.

I've heard stories of Flynn and Harris when they were at the Garden and heard that Flynn is a great person and a great player and Harris is a spoiled, arrogant, brat.

Just letting my $.02. This is also solid info as my brother knows people who went to H.S. with Paul Harris and some people who are at Syracuse who know him and Flynn on campus.
