I still havent seen the dude miss a jumpshot in every workout clip I have seen. I think people are really under estimating this guy at 7-1 260

They may have shown a segment where they did not miss, BUT in both cases, there was no editing- their shots were continuous.

What you really wanted to see was their 1/1 workout.

you know, it's probably not the teams that don't want to show one on one workouts - it's most likely the agents. i can pretty much guarantee agents write it into the workout agreement that they don't show film of the player competing against other draft picks.

Im more interested in seeing Mullen's athleticism then his shooting ability. He is supposed to be gifted athletically, I would like to see him put the ball on the floor drive and dunk while being guarded. Shoot the 15fter, as well as see him back his man down for a turn around jumper or jump hook.
What about his rebounding & shot blocking ability & timing?

Nah- the guy doesn't even want to bang down low in the post- he'll be sure to stay out of any DC neighborhood where he might get shot at or even hear a gun "bang."

I think there are plenty of tapes showing athletic ability--there were no tapes of him shooting the ball before recently. To have a 7-1 260 pound guy who can shoot the pop from mid range is a weapon--athletically you mustve seen some tape but here are a few

From what I can see-this guy has all of the *talent* and just needs *time* to put it all together and get stronger. When you draft a guy --to me it's not the first year Im most concerned with--it's what I will get in the prime years.

You are way way ahead of yourself--you cant stop and see the roses here my man. My bet is BJ gets just a tad stronger at the age of 19-20 and with good coaching realizes he is much bigger stronger and faster than most guys who are even close to his size. I know he isnt winning any math contests but my bet is he figures out how to put his skills with his frame together faster than one might think. He needs a good pro big man coach and to continue getting stronger--he has the skills down and that is the most important. When he is a rock solid 270 he wil be very tough to deal with

If he can consistently make moves in the post like the first clip shows, and do it against guys as big as him, he can be great, I question his toughness, though, and whether he has the tenacity to be a ultimate warrior in the paint.

I think he has proven since he left school that he is very willing to put in the work to get better.
Next you need a true pro big man to coach him up and a strength and conditioning coach to continue what he has started. Hes a young guy who obviously did not get good coaching in college and was utilized poorly.

From what I have seen he can hit the mid range jump shot--has the ability to work in the post effectively run the floor finish with athleticism and power and with increased training should become a very effective rebounder and shot blocker. I cant make a definitive statement on toughness at 20 years old. If you are a worker--you can be anything you want to be--tough included

If I am thinking of taking him I would have a long and private talk with the OSU staff about his year in college.

Thats like asking a mother about her daughters 18-19 year old boyfriend.

Im more concerned with who he is training with now since college ended--I think his trainer is the same guy who works with KG and Billups--to me that avenue is much more important that what an 18-19 year old kid did in his first year at college. I want to see what the work habits are NOW in a professional environment He is treating this like a job now--so That is what I am looking at--there are way to many variables about year 1 in college--to many hormones going bonkers.
To me the main red flag for a 19 year old is someone who showed poor character traits--i.e like getting arrested showing abusive defiance disregard for authority maleficence--Im not interested in drafting an arsehole of a person. He seems like a good kid from what I can see.

nice to see he can stroke it well from that distance.

aminu was taking them from the elbow, but mullens was a few feat back. he was taking them from the same range harden was in his wiz workout video.

i already have mullens in on my top 5 draft board for the knicks at 8.

it might be worth the risk to have a big man with this kind of potential, especially with d'antoni's offense. if we can't get some of the top guys.

You know what I noticed as well--in these workouts he's gone up against guys who are primarily 4 year college players--Nevill is a 5th year player. Just think back at the difference between what you were at the end of your freshmen year and at the end of college. Its not like these young PGs who are all the same size and age--these guys are 3-4 years older than BJ. What I am drafting is what I think he can do 2-3 years from now[while he helps the team off the bench in year 1 and 2]

Strategically when you start building up an athletic frontline with length with guys like Noah Mullens Thomas--it will eventually be harder and harder to match up with them with the shooters they have in the in and out game.

Im very concerned about the Knicks this way. The nets are building a very big frontline Orlando has one Boston and we seem to gearing up to take a guard in the 6-2/6-3 category and possibly losing David Lee.

Too bad we couldnt get that Charlotte 12 and jump in and swipe him there. If the Knicks realistically think they are vying for a championship next year--they are kidding themselves. This is a 3 year gig to respectability
