Kyrylo Fesenko

The Jazz are considering what to do with him. Hes a very big mobile C with a fair amount of potential to get better and certainly a guy who can come in and give some quality NBA minutes at 7-1 295. He's still very young and maybe someone we can take a look at with our LLE

I'm tired of talking about 2nd round bums to be honest. These are the guys you muse about when you have a solid playoff core in place. I've said it before if we put together a team of all the 2nd round scrubs that everyone is so enamored with we'd have a team full of trash. Worse than we have now.

You worry about these 10-15 men when you have your 1-9 set in place. As to our 1-9 we presently have ZERO set in place so why discuss these types of players outside of being NBA curious? Why discuss them as options for the Knicks when they clearly are not?

Anyways....for what it's worth:

The Jazz are expected to exercise the option on the contract of reserve center Kyrylo Fesenko for the 2009-10 season.

Fesenko is set to make $870,000 next season, and Utah is expected to wait until Monday's deadline to announce their decision.

After acquiring Fesenko in a swap of second-round picks in the 2007 draft, the Jazz have only played him in 30 games.

Not a terrible idea - we do need some big guys up in here. At this point I'd like to take another long look at Saer Sene this summer. Bring back Sene for the summer league and if all goes well and he makes the team, give him 20 mins. a night up front in a reserve role. This guy's good enough to be a backup center for us eventually. He's raw but he's young & big (at least 7'0" with a huge wingspan), very athletic and quick for a guy his size & definitely defensive-minded - defensive player of the year honors in the D-League in '08, this guy's got legit shot-blocking & rebounding skills and appears to have pretty good overall instincts to boot (on offense, again he's raw, but it looks like he's got the drop step down and he's got nice soft touch both with the hook shot and jumper out to around 15'. If guys like DeSagana Diop and Steven Hunter made it in the NBA (Hunter was an effective role player for D'Antoni in Phoenix), there's gotta be a place for this guy as well. Check out these clips - I really like the hustle, diving on the ground after loose balls etc.. He's got some relentlessness to him.

Plus, it doesn't look like Fesenko's going anywhere:
