Josh Heytvelt - F Gonzaga 6'11" 260 lbs.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=22279 judging from the clips & the scouting reports i've read, this guy can score, shoot the rock from the outside, he can run the floor, has good basketball fundamentals & instincts around the paint, he's athletic, finishes above the rim, & blocks shots... he's not all that great a rebounder for a guy his size but as a late 1st round or early 2nd i think he can really fill some needs on this team in the frontcourt... seems like a well grounded kid who's humble judging from his post draft interview. Damion James - G/F Texas 6'7" 222 lbs. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=31581 the stuff i've come across on this guy tells me he's just a terrific all around player & a great rebounder & shotblocker for a SF... his sophomore season he averaged a double double in 31 mpg while shooting over 40% from beyond the arc & followed that up this past season with a 15 & 9 statline... he has a very nice midrange game & can shoot the rock from the outside as well... he's got a long wingspan so he plays bigger than his 6'7" height might indicate... could even fill some minutes for u playing out of the 4 in a pinch a-la Shawn Marion or Ron Artest IMHO... if Donnie decides to trade Wilson Chandler to move up to the top 3 to get Rubio (not saying he should, but if he does), then grabbing this guy late in the 1st round or early 2nd could be just what the doctor ordered... i'd consider taking this guy even if Wilson were still here for that matter... u can never have too many versatile players like this that can do it all for you on the team. Me likes what me sees in Heytvelt. Would be a nice 2nd round pick. We need size.

Heytvelt reminds me of Jeff Foster, a Walsh fav.

i think the Brad Miller/Mehmet Okur comparison he referenced in his interview is sorta accurate, but Heytvelt seems a lot more mobile & athletic than those guys... i think he'd make an ideal frontcourt match w/Lee cuz he can shoot from the outside & block shots, & Lee can grab boards on the inside, & both can run the floor & finish... or u can put him next to someone like Jordan Hill if we decide to draft a bigman & upgrade the interior defense by miles over last year's team.
i think Damion James could really help this team too, say we draft Jordan Hill at #8 & have Chandler at the 2 w/James at the 3... that gives u 3 guys who can block shots & play defense on the court, & both Chandler & James are versatile enough to create some nice mismatches in our favor as well on offense. Supreme, that's a nice find too... anyone w/that kinda height who can run the floor & block shots like that & has a nice midrange J to boot should definitely be on the Knicks' radar... we need 2 way players on this team in the worst way imaginable.

Posted by TMS: I think he would be perfect for this team... the guy is smaller, harder-working version of Tim Thomas. I watched him play a lot during the tournament because those bastards knocked out my (and isles) alma mater and can definitely see him getting 20-25 a night in the pros. He would have been a perfect choice at 38 but keeping draft picks is apparently too much to ask for DLeethal wrote:

Posted by purple012870: You get jeff foster? When does jeff foster ever block a shot? body wise maybe but I dunno if Foster has the offensive game this kid shows. Subscribe to my Podcast https://youtube.com/c/DiehardknicksPodcast

I'd love to get Jeff Pendergraph with a 2nd round pick if we could. The guy is a more athletic version of Channing Frye who really gets after it on the glass and and a quick leaper. He's okay defensivley but for a guy that would play 15-20 min off the bench, he'd be a nice player to have. He'd fit in real nicely in the pick/roll & pick/pop game cuz hes got a great jump shot.

Sure, Foster can shoot an open J. But he's otherwise a pretty athletic, high energy guy with a complimentary ability/mindset (not a go-to guy by any stretch). To me, that's Heyvelt. Those highlights I think overstate Heyvelt's consistency. I don't think he's ever score 10+ on an NBA level.
