Chris Duhan was not great last year, but he sure was decent if your looking at the full season.

but that's the thing.... Thabeet is going top 4 and the draft is full of decent PGs, and that's why the media and the Knicks have been focusing there.

The Knicks stretch pick, if Curry, Holiday, Evans are gone, may be BJ Mullens.

Maybe that's why we were trying to get the pick from Memphis, if that rumor is true.

I haven't written anything in a while but I say if we do trade up we should get thabeet. pg are a dime a dozen, now real centers are rare to get. " you cant train height..." the guy can run the floor for a guy his size very well. he doesnt have a lot of upper body strength but that will come. His legs are quite strong. he does have the weight. yes he got flipped by d blair. I think that is a learning lesson about needing to get stronger. Tell me D howard has decent offense.( no) speaking of that would that fill the rating of the knicks howard vs. thabeet. Yes s curry is great but to be honest Thabeet is the better move all things considering. I hope nobody minds if i elaborate on nyks future senerio, with all the postings if read in the past 6 months. You draft thabeet this year cause next year there is no draft pick. there is your C. David lee sign him to 10 mil a year, someone had a great point that d lee's value will still be high in 2010. If we want to keep him fine he'll be good at his natural position of PF if not you can trade him for what ever you what he will still have value( for a expire contract/ decent player or whatever) he still will have value. there is you PF. I know a lot of ppl are pushing for lbj which is cool but that class has a lot of talent in it. I think chandler is doing good. you can pray for lbj cause hes great and they can still play together (chandler). if you dont get lbj you are still open to joe johnson, dirk, whatever we can get. there is you SF and SG. the Pg is a little tricky due to there are soooo many options you can do. trade exp contract for one, sign up a older on like nash/kidd, have (prayer) lbj run a point forward, draft a young pg in this draft, we might have enough money to sign a great pg going into his prime. The point of my post is that the C postion is critical to build a great team and a rare goods. From what i've seen about thabeet is wayyyyyyy better then anything we have had in the past 10 years ( last good/decent center we had was nazr mahommad) e curry has run its course. we had karma bite us in the tail with that trade( missed aldridge, and other talent cause of that trade). sorry for the long post but i dont post much so i figured i should get it all out in this one.

2010 wish list
C- thabeet
PF- Lee/ or fa
sf- chandler/ or fa
sg- fa/chandler ( depending on what fa we sign)
pg- late draft pick/fa/trade ( depending on what fa we sign)

When i say fa i'm talking about the 2010 class possible including b and c level players also
of course: rooster and who ever is still on the roster at that time

I think you absolutly right. We only saw one year of oden at college, Kandiman came out of a noname program. I'm trying to think of who else had as much hype at the center position besides duncan. we have seen 3 years of progress in the most competitve conference in college basketball. a quality program. We are not talking about the 1st pick in the draft. yao ming is living up to the hype. d howard living up to the hype. can we name a Uconn center that wasn't nba ready. even jake voskull is in the league. Yes i completely agree the pg and c spots are the hardest to play and get. I would like us to get a center that actually want to play basketball ( curry/james/ and that mullens kid has bad body langauge when he is playing ball), yes I remember that sene player that was like the 8th pick and flopped in the league, but remember he came out of nowhere no one really saw him play and if you did it wasnt against real comp. I do understand your concern about him being raw offensivly and past center picks have been some bombs. If d howard can learn offense then so can thabeet and for every bomb there is a stud. I think this is our chance to get a great long term player that is coachable. the PG position just seems to be always availible, there are new pgs coming out every year and pf converted into c's due to rarity. what are your concerns about getting thabeet? I bet rubio is great too but every year there is a great pg coming out of college. The true center seems to be such a gem when you get one this is our chance to get one Im tired of always being in the draft and not having a high pick for a quality guy. I dont want to be in the lottery at all but if we are there lets do it big and cut out the monoteny.( spell check on that word)

I think that in MDA's system the PG is FAR more important than the Center. For the way we're going to be playing, it's more important to have a PG that can run this offense exactly the way MDA wants than a Center who blocks shots and has limited offensive skills. Now we can get a big who can block some shots and defend the position outside of the #8 Draft slot.

Do you think it would be easier to find a pg to run mda system then a legit center? I am thinking what would be harder to get without draft picks.

I'm not even sure that Thabeet is a Thabeet type player.

People should read their history. Thabeet, as a defensive player, is like the "Maginot Line," the system of French fortifications that Hitler had no trouble dealing with during WWII, and he will be exploited as teams realize what he can and can't do on a court. Play Gallinari, or any 6'9+" player with the ability to dribble the ball and hit a jumper, at center against him and watch how they take advantage of him.

I would probably take Hill and Mullens before Thabeet if I was looking for a big man for the Knicks.

Dwight howard was much better offensively then thabeet, your looking at dekimbe type player at best and as history has shown us, your a 2nd round flame out with out a center who can create havoc on both ends. That aint thabeet. You would need an all star pf next to him, not david lee. David lee will never create doubles becuase he so busy working on the jumper, which is cool but IMO even lee needs a post up player to compliment his skills. This is the ideal time to get an all star pg, there are 3 or 4 in this draft.
