"They're totally different players with totally different talents," Don Chaney said. "He was brought in to replace the position not the person. We didn't replace the game; we brought in a guy to play that position knowing that we're talking about two totally different players. There should never be a comparison between the two."

Oh please, Playa. You hate Spree. Don't try being objective now. Someof us know ya card and have no problem pulling it.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Yeah, Ned, playa and a few others are a little masochistic when it comes to that issue.

It's cool though, some of us (like me) are sadistic enough to serve up the pain...

Oh, you forgot to mention hate. That's what you have for Spree and Jeff Van Gundy, remember?

Some of us just see things as they are- a bad situation this year.

From the NY Times

On Tuesday, Chaney and Shandon Anderson said they never had a question about Sprewell's character.

"The guy was a great teammate; I didn't have any problems with him," Anderson said. "Anytime anybody wants to make you out to be a bad person, they just dig, dig and try to find stuff about you. The guy had his faults, but for the most part in terms of him being professional, everything he did was.

"He said things, but I think by his play, he led. He is not the type who will just talk the game."

Chaney said: "I didn't have a problem with Latrell. He was late to training camp. In terms of being on time to practice and all that, his last year he was perfect. I had no problem with him at all.

"I love everything about him. He played hard, he played out of position and that was a huge sacrifice for him because he could have scored the same number that Allan probably scored at the two."

Yep, I think there's a definite Sado-Masochistic vibe on this issue...

Fish mike, I know you have a brain partna, haven't you ever heard of bulletin board material? Well Chaney is smart enough not to give "Mewell" any before tonight's game, so he will give him praise just before they play. It's called a con job. He and Layden and Dolan want to destroy the wolves and turn them into "CUBS" tonight.

thats funny because he said the same after the trade, over the summer, during training camp and just about every other time he's been asked. Hell of a con job.

As for KVH how do you like his impact so far? Do you like how he's clutch late in games? Or do you like how the zone was implemented for te simple reason of hiding KVH on defense? Do you like his TOs or his FG%?

Speaking of con jobs your Layden's wet dream. He traded for one of the most overpaid soft players in the league and told the fans this was the guy the team really needed. Well, I can see at least ONE person beleived him

The truth is this lousy roster needs a lot more than either Spree or KVH can give. But KVH has a longer deal. Enjoy your new franchise player.... I'm pretty sure he will be here for 3 more years.

Here's something to stew on... If the Knicks wanted to trade KVH they couldnt even get Vin Baker back.

thanks... its not about hating KVH (I dont). I think he's a decent player. I'm just sick of year after year taking other team's cast-offs and garbage and hearing Layden and Dolan say "we love our team." The moves this group has made are a joke. My wife asked me (seriously) if they were trying to ruin the team unpurpose.

Even moves Layden makes that might be decent he promptly ruins. He drafts two solid PF prospects and follows it up by trading our best playmaker for ANOTHER power forward. So our roster has KVH, Thomas, McDyess, Spoon and Harrington. Hey, lets add Sweetney and Lampe. In a week or so everyone of Layden's draft picks will be on IR. Thank god this guy's big skill is the draft.
