yeah, refusing to play a few weeks after your feelings were hurt at the beginning of the season when asked to play and you're under contract is being real professional... i love how it's always "the way it was handled in New York" while the way Marbury handled himself in NY is something that gets the pass w/some of these guys... i dunno of any player in the NBA that's been the victim more times than Marbury has over his career... sorry Jax, but i don't see too many critics that've been quieted by that kinda "professionalism"

Though the part-time LA resident had been to a finals game before, Marbury, who chatted up Denzel Washington at halftime, said, "This was different."

"It felt better," Marbury told The Post. "I felt like I was once competing for that championship and it felt good to compete for that. It was important because I wanted to see what I was competing for, feel like what it's like."

As an NYC teacher I am proud that one of our graduates could express himself like that, and I am happy to know that he now knows what he is competing for as a player.

I don't think he could have expressed it any gooder than that to be honest.

If Marbury isn't in a backup role on a veteran team he will again create dysfunction and chaos. It is nice that he showed for a short time that he could be a part of a team and contribute towards team goals. I do think he had to do it if he was going to play again in the NBA. However, he is in his 30's and came into the league at 19 and last year was not just about him being persecuted. Marbury has only been consistent in his ability to not be a good teammate. I am waiting for a current NBA player to endorse him as a teammate.
