Its almost better to trade down considering in the last 10 years the #1 overall pick has been franchise material maybe 4 times

The 2nd overall pick in the last 10 was even (to lazy to type it) worst. You really have to do your homework when drafting, when I look at most of the best players in the league, its just amazing how low some of these guys went.

You can throw Elton Brand in as franchise material, and the jury is still out on Rose and Oden. If Rose and Oden end up being franchise talents, it skews the results against your argument.

Your right about durant but I. Don't believe rose or oden will be franchise players. Rose will be an all star for sure oden looks like another bogart. The back to back injury plague season hasn't done him any favors

Oden was and always will be TRASH in comparison to his hype. I never EVER got it with this guy and still don't. He plays like he's 40 years old!!!! We don't even know if he will ever last more than 50 games a year! Or how many years even!

Good God what a joke the hype surrounding this below average tall guy has been!

A franchise player is a difference maker. A guy who can, at times, carry his team. LeBron and Howard are definitely franchise players. I think Durant is on his way to playing at that level. Ming and Brand are boderline. Oden and Rose - we'll see.

I guess you didn't watch Celtics/Bulls.

Rose showed he was the real deal. On the same level of Lebron? No - but clearly a solid player who will likely be an All Star before too long.
