"I had heard people rave about how he shoots the ball," Brown said of Curry, who made 414 three-pointers in three college seasons. "The thing that most impressed me is that he passes the ball. He's a great passer. He knows how to play."

That is a pretty good compliment from Mr. Play The Right Way. That is also now 2 Hall of Fame coaches (Brown, Bob Knight) who said that Curry impressed them most with his passing. To say that he doesn't have legitimate pro potential at point guard is laughable. I hope he falls to us at 8.

Just worried about the potential to just be a gunner that's the big thing with Curry.

Sometimes I wonder if I am looking at Marbury or Sebastian Telfair and well we don't want to go there do we.

I don't know if Curry shot so much because he HAD TO, or if he's THAT GOOD at it, or if he is truly a big time GUNNER.

I'm not that up on him in those respects but they are legit questions/concerns. We need team players not just guys who can score and pass they have to have a team mindset. Does Curry?

People downplayed this fact even when Knight said it.. are we going to downplay Larry Brown now too?

LB told Popovich that Jackie Butler was a steal. Spurs "stole' Jackie away from us. How did that work out? I'd be inclined to completely ignore Knight and Brown on the topic of Stephon Curry given both of them detest the Knicks and the latest news that has us interested in him suddenly sparks these glorious comments from two rivals of ours?

Bit fishy IMO. Larry would tell us Tyler Hansborough was the next Dirk and Pau combined if he heard we were interested in him just so we'd take him, he'd suck, and Larry would laugh. Why? Because Larry has proven to be an immature snake in that manner. So why trust them?

Can't even trust Walsh or Mike D's comments on any players. Why? They can't say they suck because that burns potential bridges - such as if Curry falls to us, we don't really want him, but a team below us wants him and is willing to do a trade and take Jeffries off our hands. So even if Curry STUNK IT UP Walsh can't say he does not like him.

See where I'm going with this? You can't trust these guys for various reasons.

Well, as I said, I don't know enough about the kid to evaluate beyond a couple of games and the stats.

I've watched him a bunch of times. He was practically a coach on the floor for that team, always trying to get his teammates in a better position for them to succeed. Make no mistake about it though, when it came time for him to do his thing, he did it.

I wish he wasn't on that crap team. Yeah he's a coach on the floor. So's Kobe when the rest of his team stinks. Have you seen Maynor? He does the same thing directing guys around. Its a function of being an NBA talent on a sub-par team.

LB is an odd bird. He would draft Eric Snow #8. I wouldn't go by his draft board.

Bottom line is that we're going to continue to get smoked by Rondo, Devin Harris, Andre Miller and Jose Calderon if we don't get some beasts in the back court.

Everybody wants to get the slick shooter. Drafting Boobie Gibson is not going to get us to the next level, I'm sorry.

For Draft value, Collison is a heady player too and he's not going #8. Get him late and pick Derozan early.

then just take Terrence Williams who can come in and play right away. He's your best bet at this year's Josh Howard, the guy everyone overlooks.

He can come in right away and lock down guys on the perimeter. He got like 8 boards and 5 assists in school and he can shoot the 3. He's awesome in transition as well.

Hell.. I would rather see a Terrence Williams/Nate Robinson backcourt than most of the PGs everyone is talking about.. Maynor, Holliday, Flynn, Lawson, etc

Good points but if we got for a Raja Bell - he needs to be a Raja Bell - and not just be a defender - an initiator of the DAntoni offense based off of a deflection, steal, quick rebound and outlet - he still needs to be able to SHOOT. This is why the Jared Jeffries and Renaldo Balkmans and Mardy Collins of the world just won't work for us. I mean, even it's a Bruce Bowen situation where there is the 1 play you just can't leave the guy open - it's got to be there for that player - or he's useless to us.

Again, I am not well informed on college guys, so I can't really speak other than having concerns of players either being gunners and not team oriented ---- or ---- somewhat defensive minded but being total hacks in the shooting department. Those two types, regardless of their strengths on either side of the ball - just won't fit in the DAntoni system.

Diaw fit because he was like Jeffries with offense. Bell fit because he was a defender that could hit a shot if left open. We need those types or we need to move on to other prospects.

What is it with you and UCLA players? Curry will get smoked by those guys at some point and they will get smoked by him. In the NBA on any given day anyone can get smoked. That is a fact. I have seen Kobe get smoked, I have seen Wade get smoked. I have seen Larry Bird get smoked, I have seen Dr. J get smoked and the list goes on and on. He is going to be so much better than Boobie Gibson give the guy some credit will you.

TWill is a good player but man that dude constantly disappears from one game to the next. He'll score 30 points going to the line 10 times one game and then the next game come back with 6 points and never getting to the line. Pretty strange players and I'm a huge Louisville guy because I love watching Pitino coach.

good point, but I love the way he rebounds, defends and passes the ball. he averaged right under 9 boards per game and around 5 dimes.... not bad at all

TWilliams scares me a little bit. He's somewhere between Balkman and Ariza.

If Derozan is still on the board, I don't know why you wouldn't go with a longer player with more offensive skills.

If Derozan isn't there, you could consider TWill, but I think Holiday and Evans are a tick better since they give you more offense and are only a little shorter at than Williams playing the point, and Williams would be playing the 2.

Knight didn't just say that Curry was a great passer, he actually showed video to explain why he came to that conclusion. Just cuz those guys are a bit nuts, doesn't mean that they don't know BB or a good PG when they see one.

What I see with Curry is that he passes as accurately as he shoots. He would make a great QB in terms of hitting his man right on target. He likely would've had more Asts if not for his teams lack of talent. You put him on a team that has shooting and guys that can catch and finish and you'll see just how good he is. Lastly he WANTS to be a great PG in the NBA. He isn't asking to be a SG. He wants to run the point and he's confident that he can compete with the best on this level. He's not overwhelmed by the responsibility or the technical grasp he has to have on the game.

Reading these positive comments about Curry's passing ability makes me think that the comparisons to Nash have some validity.
