IF Memphis is not set on taking Thabeet 2 and dont gte a deal for pick2 that trumps this one

Mobley 2009 #8 pick 2010 Denver 2nd rounder 2012 #1 restricted to 10 and 3mm in cash

for pick 2 and Milicic. That is a strong combination of picks and cash savings. You're still high up in the lottery so you don't pirse your fans off. You have more $$$ to spend on a premium FA in a bad economy and you get two future picks--one of which is a one only restricted to 10.

Basically they net 8.5mm in cash pick 8 2012 #1 R to 10 and a 2010 2nd round pick

for a C they dont want and pick 2.

Knicks then can hold that second pick hostage and decide whether they want to move to 4 and grab a Sacremento future asset and take Curry at 4[sac 2010 pick]

I don't see Sca having the $$$$$$$ to do a deal like this. 8.5mm in cash is very attractive because it's basically paying a FA for free this first year in a tough environement

If you want many things - you have to go many ways at the same time...
Actually as a result you will stay in the same sh..ty place.

If thabeet isn't take by the grizzles or the thunder then I thinks will move up because the kings will take jrue holiday at 4 and the next three teams don't need a center. I think the knicks should trade the 8pick to washington for the number 5 pick. The wizards need shooting guard the wolves and the warriors need a point guard. The wolves will draft tyreke evans and the warriors will either draft one of these three players jennings, flynn, or curry.

come on Isiah, stop it with the crazy deals

we need to hold onto our picks

There are 10 players we could really use, and we're picking #8.

We're in the perfect spot to get a good value player.

i like this trade. not sure if it's enough to entice memphis, but it's a conversation starter, for sure.

briggs, do you take rubio up there? or thabeet?

I, of course, would do that trade in a heartbeat. The Denver 2nd rounder is going to be in the upper 50s next year and the 2012 pick is long after we try and nab whatever big time free agents we can get.

The only thing is, if we can grab the #2 pick, I don't even think about trading down. I take Rubio and I run with it.

Memphis isn't exactly the best run franchise in the world, so who knows what kind of demands they would make for it.

man, if Dolan gives the green light, I'd buy as many draft picks as possible...imagine walking away with:

8 - Curry

mid 20's bought pick candidates - Cresspi, Hansborough, Gibson, Young, Green, Beaubois, Llull

we need to stop trading future first rounders. STOP.

I think that isn't a bad deal up to the future first rounder in 2012 - because I honestly think we'll probably still be sucking in 2012.

If the cash savings isn't enough to swap picks, then don't do it.

Walsh has said the one guy in this draft he would move up for is Thabeet.

i don't think Walsh has shown his hand much w/any of these prospects, i think the most he admitted to is being very impressed w/Curry's game & liking him as a prospect... most of the Curry talk is pure conjecture from the media based on Curry's own self promotion that he'd like to play in NY & would be a good fit in MDA's system... i still believe he's got a massive hardon for Curry tho, just trying to downplay it.
