MEEKS 12/27 FAU W 76-69 37 7-12 2-2 2-6 18 2 2 0 1 0 0

Point of this is, why do you draft Curry in the Lottery when you can get Meeks at the bottom of the draft? Seems like a similar player to me. Meeks might even be a superior player.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

JW44, don't hate on Curry. This is not a valid argument Meeks is not a PG and Curry is being project as a PG. As you can see clearly that Curry comes up big in the assist dept. Meeks comes off as an SG. On the defensive side you can see that Curry has the ability to steal the basketball. He is one of the most talented players and probably the most NBA ready.

I understand that there are good players out there but Curry has star potential. curry had the pressure of teams gearing up to stop him and still managed to perform well that has to be taken into consideration. If the Knicks draft Curry I really don't see how anyone can be upset with that pick.

I think he is coming out. He should definitely be available late in the first. He's not a point guard and undersized at the two. But he can shoot.

Sorry bro, just trying to provide a solid post that backs up my feeling on the kid. I'd much rather get Derozan/Evans/Holiday and buy Minny's late pick to get Meeks late.

Going into 2009 with Holiday and Meeks would be a complete sea change for this team.

Going into 2009 with Curry and Sam Young seems much more pedestrian by comparison.

Meeks is my sleeper pick. If the Knicks could nab him late first or early second it would be great move. Curry is anything but pedestrian, the kid is got game that will translate well in the NBA.

Meeks or Christmas w/a late round pick or early 2nd would be a steal IMO.

Curry is may not be pedestrian by himself. Its a matter of getting the most value out of the draft. What team scares you more?

You should want to get a size advantage as well as skill out of that #8 pick. Then with the Minny pick we could just take the best available talent. The two picks need to help fill the 1,2,5 spots.

So at the top you should be looking at Derozan, Evans and Holiday
and depending which one of those that you get, you should be looking at Lawal, Meeks, Young, Mills, De Colo, Beaubois, Thornton, Collison late in the round with Minny's pick.

Here are some possible teams you could come out of the draft with.

Collison
Derozan
The Mayor
The Rooster
Darko

Holiday
Meeks
The Mayor
The Rooster
Darko

T Evans
Thornton
The Mayor
The Rooster
Darko

Those teams have a completely different feel than what we ended last season with on the offensive and defensive ends. These teams will be about getting to the line and manning up on defense. The Darko trade would give the wings room to drive to the basket, but Chandler and the guards would be counted on to get rebounds as well. All those attributes fit Evans/Derozan/Holiday picks rather than Curry.

...Meeks is my sleeper pick...

Meeks was erratic this year but I agree all around, he's probably a sleeper pick. It's mostly likely that he'll end up in Europe or something but if there were good reasons for his up and downs this year, and he develops, he could be a surprise. When he was on this year, he was unstoppable and looked like a top pick. When was off, he was off.
