Alan Hahn writes that the Knicks may be leaning toward drafting Jrue Holiday of UCLA over Stephen Curry of Davidson with the 8th pick in this month's NBA draft.

Hahn states that he has "a feeling Holiday's potential has the Knicks more enamored right now than Curry."

Thank you Jesus
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I know I've disagreed with you about Curry, but I'd be all for Holliday as well. I know people have a problem with me comparing him to Westbrook, but I think he'll have similar success in his rookie year.

Hahn's stuff has been off lately. I have big reservations about Holliday.

Really? I like his potential.. I liked Westbrook alot last year and it seemed real black and white whether or not you liked him, so I could see this being the situation.

The problem with Holliday right now is that he doesn't stand out doing any one thing, we shall see what happens.

Good pt- its about the time that Newsday got taken over that Hahn's info started to go haywire. I don't like Isola, but if he cracks a story about something its probably the most likely to become reality.

Was not a Westbrook fan, but I think Westbrook accomplished a lot more on the floor to that point than Holiday has. Holiday is a PG who hasn't really had a shot to play PG- to me it made a lot more sense for him to come back and really show his stuff- now you're basically playing a complete projection game on him. Its tough because I see so many talented well established PG's in this draft.

I can definitely understand that point of view Des. I personally prefer both Curry and Jennings to Holliday, but his athleticism and raw skills keep me a bit intrigued.

I don't how you could say JH over curry when scouts have said curry is lights out from deep and j holliday does no one thing very well. Curry is a no brainer considering what he's going to be ask to do. If mike d can make duhon look like stockton at times, the skys the limit for a pg like curry who is a deadly threat from the perimeter.

I agree with you, you don't pass on Curry if he is available. He is proven where as JH is still an unknown. I don't see how anyone can not like a lights out shooter with passing ability who is a very capable defensive player. He just fit the MDA system like a glove.

Capable defensive player? The guy plays 0 defense and will be owned in the NBA with that small frame. I don't think this guy is a starter in the NBA.

I would probably prefer Curry over Holiday at this point, slightly, but isn't this a little early? The Knicks haven't even had Curry in for a workout yet (it's coming up on the 9th, right?).

I like Hahn, but this means absolutely nothing to me right now.

There is one thing that Holiday does very well - and that's play defense. He's very quick laterally and has the size and quickness to guard either backcourt position. Still, I prefer Curry, because he can carry a team's offense on his back and isn't bad defensively.

If you argue against Holiday, I don't think Curry is the counter argument. Curry isn't a trained point guard either and takes a lot of projecting himself.

What Holiday doesn't need training in is size. Take a look at the Combine videos. He's just so much bigger than all of the other guards. I know he can out physical opposing PG's on defense. Who knows what he can do on offense, but he looks

If we're planning on getting LeBron or Joe Johnson in here, the PG isn't going to be the primary ball handler anyway. Having a big PG would be critical with a lineup like that to take full advantage of having a point forward.

That is when you want a lights out shooter. To better compliment a LeBron or Wade or what have you. You choose Curry because he is a pg his assist totals were very good. His defense is very good also. He averaged 2.5 steals, he see plays develop on the defensive side of the ball. Curry knows the game well he has a high Bball IQ.

I have nothing against Jrue Holiday. I just don't think he is that good he might of benefited more by staying in college for another year like Westbrook. But I can tell you right now that he is no Westbrook, he doesn't have that great an advantage over Curry as you seem to make it out to be. Curry has superstar potential and that cannot be passed up. With that said I don't think Curry will be there for the Knicks anyways. He will be gone by the time the Knicks pick.

His small frame is such a minor topic because there have been very good perimeter players (reggie, prince ) that never seem to gain weight yet dominate in different ways. The rules benifit his style of play anyway.Just imagine if eddie curry comes back relevent

Could be that they scheduled both in the same workout to see what Curry can do against this big defensive-minded kid. If he could pass that test then he's definitely our guy. Not sure but this might be more about Curry than Holiday...
