Hey Briggs.. what are your expectations with this position? Is this a quick jumper or something you're seeing having a GSIT type slow but sure move up the ladder?

This is a technical trade--if you want something soft and sure--buy Yahoo stock -- Yahoo is a very popular stock right now in the institutional realms so you should get strong steady movement for the rest of this year barring unforeseen events. With the smaller stocks they are more primed for rapid movement--especially since that piece came out this weekend on Cancer vaccination therapy--this stock has moved up from the 1s--but like what you saw with vnda--these stocks can have rapid and aggressive gains. My guess is if someone is throwing 5 grand into a stock--they would be more interested in potential aggressive type upside. For me leaving substantial amounts of money in the bank makes no sense right now because there is no yield and Im not interested in dead money--I bought a house in Nantucket a month ago[a childhood dream that I finally went for after 10 years] that I am going to rent out 50 weeks a year[hopefully]and I have diversified funds to 5 choice large capital stocks Cisco Google Yahoo Intel and Loews for the long term.
Trades like IMMU are smallish for me but they can reap very nice rewards--but come with much higher risk. I usually have 3-5 smaller types of trades like this going at once.

There you go--that's my life story:)

Thanks for the response Briggs, I'm in on it. I hope you didn't get misunderstand my question, I wasn't trying to find a guarantee on it, I was just curious what your thoughts were on it's growth potential. Like I said before, you got a real keen eye for these kinds of things and stuff like this is always welcome for a newbie investor like myself... get to learn something.

Congrats on the house in Nantucket, that's truly awesome to fulfill one of your dreams like that. You gonna be spending the summers there?

Nice call on IGOI - lets see what happens with IMMU - I am getting back into the market after b-school, just took a job making $10/hr but have plenty of time to speculate in the market while I look for something better. If things go ok I say we rent out Briggs house and throw a UK party for him

The market looks like it might be headed for the summer readjustment so its time ti sit tight I guess. As far as biotechs go, the real juice is in phase III and FDA approval process so I don't see this thing popping until we start hearing about that but this is good news.

This was coming---I was watching the accumulation on it for weeks. This will end up a really nice hit--perhaps a shocking hit.

Best of luck--you're on your way here.

No upside to it. I know I can make anyone a millionaire if you started with roughly 50k within a 3-4 year timeframe. I did it for my brother and father in law. Atleast I get some family satisfaction that I helped my immediate family members and they feel good that in some ways they acquired it themselves. I've never let anyone down here over 7 years but what is the upside to that as well? I've never even hear more than a couple of thank yous--more like BRIGGS is a blankity blank for the most part. And if I ever missed Id probably have someone hunting me down

Well how bout this. I'm flat broke. Have student loans up the ass. Took your advice and took work (waiting tables). Quit because I found something short term at $25/hr. I grind it out. That said, I'm doing what I can to get ahead. Until I can get to the point where I can actually utilize your tips, what news sources do you read? What books do you recommend? What technology do you implement (such as Bloomberg)? Do you lean on any analysts? What services do you use to place your trade? I can't do much now, but I've interned at The Wall Stret Journal, studied economics in undergrad, finance in grad, and I have a keen interest in the subject. I bought Dodd and Graham's "Security Analysis" on whim...

Anyway, I don't have the security to assume financial risk at the moment... but when I can take on the risk I want to and was wondering what you'd recommend

IGOI
INPH
GSIT
IMMU
HYGS

to help the flock please put your buy limits.

Or, perhaps if some have an IRA they want to invest a portion of it in an account.

What might be your top 5-10 picks? This is a great time to invest and maybe you can help the young guys that might have 10k pick a few that get them to 50k at some point.

Please guys understand what briggy does. He is not a paid pro, not a mutual fund, not doing anything but throwing some tidbits one Mid-small market stocks that may take years to come to fruition!

VNDA was a hell of a story but those are exceptional type of things you cannot bank on. Part of winning any invstment strategy is that YOU WILL LOSE on some and win on others. Briggy has been very generous sharing any of this with you and it might be fun to get even just a bit more.

These are "flyers" for me and its been fun.

some of you Im sure are doing some of the stocks and have been very cool about it so Perhaps Briggs could have more fun as well.

Really, as you have, just a few tidbits or comments. No newsletter kind of thing or anything that you have to be accountable for.
