Do people still think that watching games are boring? Or that the new generation of players do not respect the game? I don't know about guys but I am loving what I am seeing in the playoffs. It just goes to show that excitement in the NBA is not just for the 80's and 90's.

But what about their tattoos and unshaven appearance? They are scary.

you have to assume the playoffs should create the best competition. but let's be real, the regular season was atrocious and most of the 2nd round was poor as well. these 2 series have been some of the best in a long time tho. the boston/bulls series got alot of props but in essence, it was two mediocre teams fighting it out - so it was a first round matchup between a 7 and 8th seed...that's why it was close.

Atrocious for people that only follow the Knicks. There are many teams that I enjoyed looking at during the regular season. Also back in the days not every team was exciting. The 2nd round with Cleveland blowing out their competition is no different from the Bulls blowing out teams in the playoffs back in the days.

what i was going to say.

tattoos and evil characters aside, the nba's greatest draw back is the season. the playoffs, of course, are going to be the very best of the league...that's what they are intended to be.

EDIT: eh that's a good point, maybe i'm skewed after a decade of garbage native product

In the past how excited were you about the NBA outside of the Knicks playing?

The reason I say this is, most people that I hear complaining about the NBA right now are Knicks fans. I use to hear Boston fans complain until they won a title.

I heard on ESPN today that the ratings for this playoffs has been thru the roof. Fans have been very interested in the NBA playoffs this year and that's a good sign that even the casual fan is more interested in the game this year.

That's why I dismiss any complaints on the FAN from the host or callers about the NBA. It is no different then a fan in Pittsburgh screaming about how baseball sucks. When I worked in Tampa Bay about a year and half ago, everyone down there only talked about the Bucs, Magic and Heat. Most everyone I met couldn't stand baseball and the ridiculous spending and franchise teams like the Yankees and Red Soxs. Said they couldn't stand a sport that promoted the use of steroids and on and on. It is amazing how that changed within a year's time. Go figure.

There was some knuckle head down here going off on Chris Andersen calling him an embarassement because of his tattos. Personally I don't mind them. I think they are less annoying than the Rodman antics of changing his hair color at half time.
The only thing that can improve of these games is if they were all on free t.v. I've always got to search to find the games.

That's crazy because Chris Anderson is a player any team would love to have. He plays defense and comes to work every night. Tattoos do not determine if a player is good or not. The NBA is not the only sport that has players with tattoos. In all forms of entertainment entertainers have tattoos.

Exactly. Fans only care when their team is doing good. If Lebron was a Knick would Knick fans really be saying the league sucks?

I think that for quite a few years after MJs retirement the league was watered down and the talent level dropped significantly from the 80s and 90s. But now, there's a ton of talent (maybe moreso than the 90s but less so than the 80s... htough I'm not arguing that). I mean, The Denver Nuggets have the players with the least name pull of the remaining teams AND THEY HAVE CMELO AND BILLUPS... the talent is definitely up.

I'd say the major problem with the league is there is too much of everything. Too many games, too many teams, too many players, too many playoff games...

Its alright nothing to great. Its still a setup league in my opinion. I mean the Lakers are still benefiting from last seasons fraud deals. As did the Celtics who I personally beleve had no business winning a championship last year. Cleveland is benefiting from a massive tank job for LeBron. Denver you can throw them into the fray also but they came away with Melo which isn't a bad consolation prize.

I think if the Knicks were to win it you would actually see a team without any outside help win it all. The Knicks are doing it the hard way without any outside help in forms of gifts. That is why I don't respect all these teams that are in the final 4 but its nice to see close games.

Men sound real bytch like when they say that they dont watch the NBA because a player or two has too many tattoos.

Get over yourself, what's the big deal?

If the Knicks had Lebron, Dwight, Kobe, Paul and Duncan, I would still say the league sucks because in reality it does. This is coming from a die hard Knick fan for over 16 yrs.

I still think the league is soft. That is my complaint. The games are entertaining but the calls by the officials are weak.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
