This guy is going to be a top 3 player in this draft after all is said and done. Look at his pick and pop potential--great form and size to hit the J--the ability to use his athletic ability to finish strong inside--great size at a young age at what looks like a skinny 7-0 260. His shotblocking and rebounding will just consistently get better--that is what you want out of any player--this guy has been working hard--you can see it just off of this small clip--his physical shape--his form on his J--I wouldve loved to have seen some post up and some athleticism with this new physique. He's just talking about how to work hard improve and he has all of the natural ability and size in the world--if you mix in hard work with it--this is going to be one helluva player. Thats why its nearly impossible to fully grade a player like this off of one year in college. My bet is if he went back to college next year after these two months of training--he would be a nightmare of a weapon.

We make so many mistakes in the draft--I don't care if we just leverage pick 8---I would rather have the 7 footer than a skinny 6-2 PG/SG--I feel 9in this shtty draft--if this kid works hard --it's just going to click--this is a guy who was scoring 50-60 points in college in some games--who has unusual athletic ability for someone his size--he's just young right now-

I like Mullens I think he would be a real good addition to the Knicks and D'Antoni based on his skill set and what he likes to do.

It would be ideal to come away with a center and pg in this draft. Like it has been said many times, we gotta get another pick. Its very important to try and come away with 2 guys like Curry & Mullens out of this draft. That would be a huge step in building this thing into a playoff contender for stars to take us seriously in 2010-2011.

Watching these playoffs, you can just tell how important post defense plays in a role of success. Anybody thinking that an undersized SG will be a difference maker is fooling themselves. My only thing about Mullens is that postwork is average at best and I think he plays more of a power forward/center. His post defense isn't that great. I rather take Thabeet if I was in the top 3 but that because I watched him more.

Teague and Mullens is a great possibility if we trade down. Buy another pick and get Gibson. You would be in a position to then trade Lee for at least a 2010 pick.

Thabeet is going 2-3

I never saw Mullens go pick and pop at OST--thats OK but it proves that he is a multi-skilled 7 footer that has not been accounted for. His form for a big man is as good as it gets. But from watching him I believe him as long as he stays within the mid range--he does know how to seal and explode for a dunk or layup--thats why he shot 70% in the bIg ten but I think this guy is going to be able to score 20 points in this league from the 5 AND become a good rebounder. I agree with you on the D BUT a 7 footer who is athletic strong and works hard will become a good defender. In some ways he's kind of like a David Lee but 4 inches taller with more skills and much more defensive potential because of that length.

The two main reasons why we have lost that last 10 years--lack of size and star. I like Curry but it would take him to hit absolute full potential to have somewhat similar impact that I think a guy like BJ can who only has to hit 75% of his--lets face it--the game is quicker and there is a move to the smaller players but you cant win without big one's and there is just a lack of them.

I tell you I would love to resign David Lee draft Mullens and have a Mullens Gallinari Lee frontline with some good heady players on the perimeter and possibly one star from free agency to put it all together.
No one has seen him shoot mid range jumpers like that--this guy is going to be good really really good and teams that pass on him will be making a huge mistake--he's got a rare package--we should stop think and listen with big ears and deep thought. Teams are going to jump up on this guy but I think 8 still will hold the leverage.

We need to forget anything weve had on the table and bring this guy is for a serious workout or 2 where we are the only team in the room looking. That jump shot has to open some eyes. I see this guy as a potential Pau Gasol
and that is something we need.

We both know the Knicks are going to draft Curry. That is set in stone unless someone takes him before us or we trade up for Rubio or something. Agree with it or not we both know thats going to happen. But can they also get that other draft pick so that we could nab Mullens as well.

Gibson's another guy i like late in the draft... guy is a leader & brings toughness & shotblocking to the frontcourt

Here is the thing--it's impossible to make defintive statements on these guys at this age.--Ive heard he's not a hard worker--obviously not the case. I did not see this jumpshot? anyone else? no because he didnt take much if any on the pick and pop. hes got good foootwork going back to HS--Im sure it has dramatically improved in the last two months. He snot coming up with the names of amare dirk and KG by himself--his trainer--the same guy who trains KG and Billups is telling him that because he sees it up close.

I like this clip because it shows you the explosion the touch and the footwork --this guy is just made for this system as a 5.

If GMs really believe the crap they are saying about how this is such a weak draft then they should be ready to trade their picks. I wonder if the Knicks are souring on Curry's actions. When you usually have a deal in place both sides kinda keep quiet but this guy doesn't seem to understand that.

& to be fair BRIGGS, Mullens looks to be about 6 inches taller than anyone else on the floor in those clips... kid's got some serious hops but all it shows is his shotblocking & dunking ability over much shorter players... he's also shown laying the ball up but seems like he's right hand dominant, not much use of the left like D Lee... i'd like to take a flyer on this kid if we can grab an extra late round pick but something tells me MDA & Walsh aren't interested in any more projects at this point... just hearing Walsh's comments after the draft lottery it seems to me he's looking for someone who can come in right away & contribute.

Im not looking at the other players--Im looking at BJ skills. He's already been able to score in the big ten when given a chance at a 70% clip--Im quite positive he wouldve been a dominant type player this next year in college anyway.--what you don't see in this clip is what you see in the clip above--the guy looks like he can absolutely shoot the ball in a big time way in the mid range post and pop. This is something that I havent seen from him until today--it shows more innate skills and a hard worker not just a 7 foot guy relying on physical skills. Watch that Blake Griffin video--he was CLANGINg the shots Mullens was draining with ease. You cant stop a 7 footer on the pick and pop--hes too long.

I tend to agree -- maybe the Knicks are blowing smoke up everyones behind and have an eye out for Mullens.

We sure as hell need size and skill.

Mullen also offers protection in the event Lee gets moved.

what you don't see in this clip is what you see in the clip above--the guy looks like he can absolutely shoot the ball in a big time way in the mid range post and pop.

not even sure what u meant w/the first part of that comment but i don't see any pick & pop skills on display in this clip, much less a midrange J... he seems like he's got D Lee type springs in his legs, gets up real quick to follow up missed shots, & has a soft touch on his layups around the basket (which all seemed like they were right handed layups, which he'll have to rectify at the NBA level cuz he's gonna have to learn how to finish w/his left hand also)... i think he can be a good offensive rebounder & finisher based off that alone & i like how he goes up w/2 hands to dunk the ball on most attempts... but he's gonna have to face much bigger & stronger competition at the NBA level & as it is his first year at Ohio State he showed he still needs a lot of work on his game & at his size & w/his hops & wingspan his rebounding totals really should have been alot better than they were... he's a bigtime project at this point & even tho u or i might like his upside i have a feeling Donnnie's only looking at more NBA ready prospects... sucks that he'd limit his scope like that but i doubt he wants to go back to back drafts w/players who he has to wait a few years for them to develop.

He's very young and there's no denying his size and athleticism. The interview is very good. But when I look at the guy's numbers - even at the end of the season, I'm unimpressed. For his last five games, his rebounding numbers were 6,4,5,2,3. He averaged four boards in 17.5 minutes - which is weak. And the fact that his coach didn't play him much when the games counted shows what his own coach thought of what Mullens brought to the table.

Someone is going to take a chance on this guy because of his measurables and maybe they'll get lucky and he'll turn into a decent player. But, I don't think he'll will. He looks like a bust to me.
