Ok - we're all disappointed with the Knicks. Here are the things that I've seen that I like:

1) Doleac - is playing much better then last year his rebounding and defense are much improved.

2) KT - Is doing an excellent job on the boards.

3) F. Williams has shown flashes of talent.

4) Houston can shoot and score.

5) McDyess - May be able to play this year.

6) Mutombo - Still may round into slightly better form and be able to give us 24 -28 minutes and 7 or 8 rebounds and pts and some blocks on a fairly consistent basis.

7) Van Horn - Is over paid but I think better then most fans give him credit for.

Yes my list of things wrong with the Knicks is much longer - but everyone has pointed out the negatives already.

Did anyone point out that Layden and Chaney are pretty bad at what they do and Dolan is a bad owner?

It may be gettin old but its true. We'll never get anywhere with the passionless Dolan as our owner.

We should all chip in and by the knicks

We should stalk Dolan with torches and pitchforks like he was Frankenstein's monster. Why don't people do that anymore?!

Blame it on the Patriot Act.

Because maybe the fans are getting as soft as the team is.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I like the fact that you're looking for positives. I turn on the radio to hear the game discussed and all I hear is ranting about how bad an owner Dolan is, how bad a GM Layden is and how bad a coach Chaney is. How it's better if the Knicks lose. We've all heard this about a zillion times. I want to talk about how and whether Frank Williams is developing, whether KVH is gonna step it up, etc.

I'm a sports fan because I enjoy it. I'll do my share of complaining but if that's all it's about - why bother? Sometimes the best teams to root for are teams that you don't expect much from and they surprise you. Is ownership and management doing a good job - no. I try to find some positives because without them it's just not any fun.

i agree lets stop beating a dead horse.we have no control over this team except whether to root for them or not, i choose to root.i think williams is getting better.he needs pt but the unknown is ,are his work habits good? does he stay late after practice, things of that nature.keith van horn is fine,he also fights inconsistencey, but we can't say that he doesn't contribute.he does what he does and the fans should appreciate that.every team that he has been on he has been an integral part of.i've watch this guy since utah and he has done well what he does well.look at the improvement from thomas this year.he's gone from a wild eyed detriment to the team to a cornerstone.the guy is doing great .doleac and mutombo are maning the center spot, like an inside / outside combo.although i believe that we might use lampei or the like to spell them .again is lampei a hard worker? remember this guy fell to a spot that we were able to draft him.houston needs help. he is an excellant offensive 2 but he needs a breather.harrington has added some exciting minutes.the two headed point of eisley and ward, looked good saturday.,can they perform on a consistent basis? these guys are professional atheletes and should be held to certain standards . i believe that those standards should be consistency at doing what their talents dictate that they are capable of doing. if they do that and we judge them from that standard are team can be very competitive.we are not a team of stars but there are many star teams that aren't very good.the old championship team from my youth, were a collection of team players and no stars.in fact the star or two came off the bench .chaney has got to know that he is on the line ,i don't think that he wouldn't play someone if he didn't think that he [player, rooks ]wouldn't help the cause. these guys were scrappy sat. and have taken some good teams down to the wire.for the limited talent here,i think we can compete

Yeah, I'm excited to see a Knick rookie finally begin to develop before our eyes. That alone makes Knick games much more interesting to watch. I think the point guard play has been pretty good over the past two games. Sometimes it seems like players think they're better than the are; then they realize they aren't the greatest and they need to rely more on each other. They play as a team and they prosper.

My concern about Van Horn is his defense. He really contributes off the boards and he can get going inside sometimes (but he seems to get stripped down low a lot). So it seems like a double edged sword with him -- more offense, less defense. I agree that Doleac has really contributed this year.
