winners. Draft high bball IQ, hard-working players from winning programs. Examples:

Tyler Hansborough - no, he's not a starting caliber PF, but he is a Carl Landry or Leon Powe type and we could use that

Danny Green - good athlete/defender, can pay 2 or 3, well schooled & can shoot

Sam Young - better version of Danny Green but probably can't play 2, some compare him to James Posey

Jerel McNeal - actually reminds me of what Gilbert Arenas was coming out of Arizona

Josh Heyfelt - excellent athlete, 6'11", nice skill level, esp around the hoop....Jeff Foster clone

how about $3mm to move from 8 to 5 and $3mm to move from 5 to 2 and draft a star in Rubio

Well, that's awfully nice, but its not happenin. But the sell off of picks from 20 on occurs each year.

With this economy, I see Memphis(27), Minny(28) and Oklahoma(25) selling their picks since they have multiple picks in the first round.

if we're taking Curry at #8, then we should buy a late 1st rounder or early 2nd rounder & take Dionte Christmas... he'd be an excellent backcourt mate w/size at the SG position who is physically ready for the NBA now & is a damn good shooter... if they wanna invest the time to groom a project, then take Mullens, but it seems Walsh & MDA are only interested in players that can come in & contribute right away.

Portland has 5 picks, 4 in the second round. No way they keep all of them.

I think the Knicks would be set if the come off with a Evans/Teague at 8 and a Calethes/Maynor at 16+

The Knicks don't usually work that way but they also didn't try out young guys from the DL in the past. Maybe things are changing and they will go that route. The only problem is that first round picks have guaranteed money.

Trade down and take Mills or Mullens and then late in the first round take Marcus Thorton from LSU. This guy is tough and can flat out stroke it from anywhere.

personally i think someone like Taj Gibson could be an impact player for us much in the same way Chris Anderson is for DEN... not the same kind of player, just make that type of impact off the bench... he would bring some shotblocking & inside toughness on defense... & Christmas can be a poor man's Joe Johnson for us... Dejuan Blair is another guy who could become a nice role player on this team... i'd be happy w/any of those guys w/an extra pick.
