The Denver Nuggets are becoming a defense oriented team this year. Their defense in the playoffs is noteworthy. Balkman is known for his defense and energy yet he is not even in the active roster for the game. What happened?

The Nuggets are holding on to Balk and hiding him deep on the bench for an offseason trade that will yield a coveted 1st round pick.

he had a sprained ankle

edit: at least he did for western conference game 2, but the fact is that R. Balkman was never a big part of the nuggets to begin with, he played a little more than half their games this season and put in 14 minutes per, 5/3/.6

so he's a scrub pretty much

Can't you fix that by some medical marijuana?

you might be able to ease the pain with this substance that you talk about, but it will not help your ankle return to health

Sad to see Ariza and Balkman playing for two successful teams
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

yea it's nuts that ariza is starting on a finals contender and we gave him up for what, nothing probably, probably like a 2nd round pick.

Worse. We let him go for Stevie Franchise, but I think you meant to post this in the "in praise of Reezy" thread.

Balkman ?

Give me a break, he's known for wearing ugly suits on the bench.

I was wondering the same thing about Balkman because he had become a regular rotation player. The problem is he cannot shoot, and Denver's only chance to beat LA is to keep their foot of the offensive pedal. Thus, Balkman does not match up well in this series because LA usually has 5 guys on the court who can score. I still think Balkman can be a quality player, IF he puts in the work to continue to develop his offense. At this point, it looks like Ariza has surpassed Balkman as a player. Balkman needs to work on his jumper like Ariza did, if he wants to get to the next level of being a consistent 6 or 7 man on the bench.

Balk was only in the rotation when they had injuries. He did have a good run but he was still a huge reach as a first round pick with talent that was available at that time.

Any scrub looks OK on the team of scrabs...
Now he is on good team, so the truth came out.
