w/Blake Griffin coming into the fold, they have a glut of frontcourt players w/Kaman, Camby, Zach & Jordan over there... they'll probably be looking to trade Zach & Camby this offseason.

why not offer up Q Rich & DEN's 2nd rounder next year for Camby? both players have an expiring & LAC got Camby for a 2nd rounder to begin with so it's not so farfetched to think they'd trade him away for one now, even if it is later on in the 2nd round... Q's played for them before & he'd be an upgrade over Steve Novak as a backup wing player... we could really use Camby's shotblocking ability & his rebounding will easily replace D Lee's loss in case he's traded or signs w/another team in the offseason... or he would make a perfect frontcourt mate to D Lee in case the Knicks decide to hold onto him to start the season... seems to be a good fit for all parties involved to me.

To be honest TMS, I don't think they are going to be interested in trading camby.. I've been reading their trying to send Kaman to Chicago for someone like Hinrich. Camby has the best contract of the 3 and I don't think they are going to give him up.

The Knicks should look into it. I'd let Nate go for Camby.

i was thinking of that too but Camby's contract is valued higher than what Nate's likely to get in any S&T... we'd have to throw in Chandler or Gallo to even out the dollars & obviously that's not something i'd be looking to do... we could possibly work it as part of a larger package, but LAC's don't have any other contracts that would appeal to us.

How old is Camby for goodness sakes? He was on the Knicks in the 90's--he's going to drop off the cliff fast here.

if i were them i'd wanna hold onto Kaman, especially now that they're gonna get their franchise guy in Griffin to pair him up w/in the frontcourt... Kaman averaged 16 p / 13 r / 3 b as a starter a year ago & he's only 27... his contract is very reasonable for that level of production... Jordan is still a project at this point & i would wanna keep developing him behind Chris Kaman for the next couple years.

do u really give a crap if we lose Q Rich & DEN's 2nd rounder next year for a guy who can average a double double & be a shotblocking intimidator for you next season regardless of how old he is?

I hear what you are saying but what is the use at this point? 1 year?

Donnie Walsh says he wants to make the playoffs and that sounds like a playoff push move to me. I could see that happening after the draft. Camby doesn't like it there and wouldn't mind coming back to NY. He will breakdown for sure. Not sure if Nate would be onboard though.

it can help us win more games next year, who knows maybe even make a run for the playoffs... that would be worth it right there... we're not taking on any longterm salary or losing any valuable players in the bargain, i see no possible downsides to making such a trade other than the risk of Camby going down to another injury, but it's not like Q Rich has been the model of durability lately either... a late 2nd round pick is nothing, we can buy those at any time... if anything i would guess LA would look for better offers from other teams for Camby's services, but it's worth a try to at least start discussions on a possible trade for Camby cuz he would fit this team's needs perfectly & we could then focus our draft on MDA's obsession w/players that can shoot the rock.

I don't mind but you would basically have to change the composition of your frontcourt the very next year. Q Rich also make 2.3mm more than Camby--that could have effect on their cap depending on what the numbers are.

when does Mobley's trade exception expire anyway? isn't it only valued at $4.5 mil (half of his salary for next season)? Camby's making $7.8 mil next year so we'd still need to throw in more salary to make it work.

we can take back Mardy Collins in the package & throw in some cash considerations or a future 2nd rounder... i think it's a worthwhile move to make.

Camby talk again? He's a million years old and with his injuries I don't really see what purpose he would serve. Long-term there is not really the objective because of Camby's age and injuries, and next year he would make no impact on the Knick's record.

I guess for shyts and giggles.

completely disagree w/u there... we would have won at least 5-10 more games this year if we had a shotblocking intimidator like Camby in the frontcourt... how many easy layups did guys get at the rim w/D Lee & his jazz hands patrolling the paint?
