this is of course a flawed question since we won't know a lot of things until then, but just to guage the temperature of the forum's feelings about who we think will wind up being picked... i couldn't include everyone, but these seem like guys that could wind up landing in our lap.

I don't like Flynn as a lottery pick

I think the only guy who might still be there, based on what we know now, is Curry or Jennings.

I have never really seen Jennings but based on what I have heard and read he strikes me as a sound pick at PG. Curry is a shooting guard and if we pick a shooting guard I want him to be a) Super-incredible if he is smaller like Curry, or b) The right size: 6'5" and up.

If Thabeet is there, and he won't be, we'd better pick him or I am heading to MSG with a bad attitude!

Rubio has a buyout that gives him some leverage as to his ultimate destination. I don't know that the Knicks would give up Chandler, but Chandler+pick8 would be plenty ammo to move up in this draft for a team that wouldn't want to or couldn't come to terms with the buyout.

Use the pick to further the 2010 rebuild. Use it to dump Curry if we can.

We have ENOUGH role players on this team which is exactly what this #8 will be.

some wonder if thabeet is worth a high pick because of some concerns that have been expressed about his lack of offensive game and how he got pushed around by blair, who is more akin to the size of a lot of big forwards in the nba...

also a feeling like his ceiling is dalembert, and do you want to use a top 5 or so pick on someone with that kind of potential?

I think Dalemebert is a notch above his floor....he should be about as good at the very least and has a good chance of being better IMO. His court awareness and offensive potential are suspect, but a lot of that is a result of the fact that just needs seasoning.

Thabeet's cieling is Delambert? Thabeet is so much further along than Delambert as a college player that it is kind of an amusing comparison. Thabeet was co-player of the year and defensive player of the year in the Big East.

Delambert is Thabeet's floor, not his ceiling.

Thabeet will probably never be a "smooth" offensive player but he can already hit an spot-up 8 - 10 footer reasonably and he tries to dunk anything closer than that.

He averaged 4 blocked shots across his career at Uconn and he had at least a couple of 20 rebound games this past season.

Only medical trouble could make him drop.

This is extremely likely. I think we forget that the Knicks have competent (to say the least) management and they'll do what's actually best. If they think Curry can be someone that can run D'Antoni's type of team, they'll pick him. If not I'm sure they'll try to dump salary or move up

Personally, I'd say trade whatever to get Rubio.

Clips got Randolph and Baron Davis. Two assets that will be hard to move.

Rubio should have no problem taking his act to LA accept his time zone is not good for his marketing opportunities. ITs that much further away from Spains time zone. The guy can make bigger money. Rubio I think might need a little time to have an impact. Baron and Zdumb don't make for great mates to play with.

Griffin should be their pick and build around him going forward. Do they really phuch it up with Blake? Is he under ratted as a no. 1 pick?

Do we have a combo of players and our pick to package to make it worth while for us to move up? How far can we go? Is Thabeet a work in progress with a higher ceiling?

When Delambert came out of Seton Hall he was just a raw athlete. He couldn't chew gum and shoot a free throw. Thabeet is physically better, and his game is more developed.

NBA scouts and executives either love him or hate him as a prospect. The majority are enamored with Thabeet's size, mobility and elite shot-blocking ability. They see a player who could instantly make a difference on the defensive end of the floor and think he should be a top-five pick in the draft. A few even have him ranked as high as No. 2 on their draft boards.

A smaller group thinks he could be a bust, and I have been in that camp for the past two years. As good as Thabeet's defensive abilities are, he looked awkward, mechanical and uncertain on offense at UConn. He also lacked the toughness to be a terrific rebounder and seemed to back down when more physical players, such as Pitt's DeJuan Blair, came after him.

But after spending a day in L.A. getting to know Thabeet and watching him work out, my stance has started to change. What I saw in L.A. this week was a player who has a lot more upside than I thought. Here's why.

Baby steps.. They dumped a lot of salary. I'd say it's an improvement over past years; if you want to argue whether that makes them competent, fine, but you can at least say that we don't have to worry as much about what they'll do this offseason.
