I know the Rockets have Battier, Artest & a great team defensive concept. But the Nuggets have better shot blocking.

Who will primarily defend Kobe? How much does Dahntay Jones play vs. JR Smith? Are either a good defender?

On the other hand, will the Lakers be forced to use Kobe at times on Melo?

I think, any way you slice it, this goes 7. Lakers in 7.

nuggets hype machine in full overdrive...

they don't have the speedy guard that usually give the lakers fits.

They have Chauncey. That's enough.

Like JR Smith? Nobody's going to guard Kobe, however, they matchup in all other areas. They have size and can defend. They have their superstar who can at least score with Kobe. They have scorers in other places and they have some depth.

Plus the Lakers are ****y as hell and go on vacations. The Nuggets aren't and smell blood all day and night. This isn't the Houston Rockets without Yao, T-Mac and Mutombo.

The Lakers have been underachievers this postseason. If they play like they did the past two series, the Nuggets will definitely upset them and move to the Finals. Only a really focused Lakers team moves on and wins in the Finals.

nuggets don't have a frontcourt player that can score like scola. jr smith is a crackhead. denver's finals hopes lie on the shoulder of chauncey. and i don't think he breaks down the defense enough to kill the lakers. i also look for bynum to have a productive series against nene or anderson.

This is really the Nuggets series to lose, the Lakers were exposed as a soft, vulnerable, non-D playing team and its up to the Nuggets to capitalize.

The Rockets weren't intimidated in the slightest. They went into that series expecting to win and committed to giving it to the Lakers, and they took it to them despite being ridiculously undermanned.

There really isnt a discernible talent advantage either way between the Nuggets and the Lakers. The Lakers struggled against a hobbling Rockets, while the Nuggets destroyed Dallas. Denver is just better right now on May 19th, not February or March when the Lakes were runnin' shyt. Denver got that mo!

But if the Nuggets come out tentative and shy away from the spotlight, then yeah they'll get run. Real quick. Obviously Billips has to continue to be the main cog and keep giving the Nuggets their swagger.

I don't know what counts as NBA finals good, except getting there. Denver only need to be better than LA to do that, and for my money, they are.

i think the rockets were able to hang for the sole reason they were able to put the 2 best defending wing players on kobe. denver doesn't have anywhere close to that, hence why the lakers will beat them. it's not about playing hard or outworking - it had purely to do with matchups.

if the Lakers keep showing their arrogant nature it will come down to a game 7 again.

Kobe will go off more in this series, but there are some serious matchup problems for the Lakers against Denver if you want to go that route.

Let Kobe go off, and neutralize everyone else.

Nene and KMart will demolish tandem of Gasol and Odom. Melo and Kobe will score at will, but Billup can control games over PGs of Lakers. Nuggets in 6.

Lakers semi-healthy in 6

If they were 100% this would be 5 games

it's not about kobe going off...it's about impeding the lakers from running their normal offense b/c artest + battier forced them to change. now, they can run their normal offense. denver is tough but i don't see them winning 3 games, let alone 2.

the Nuggets best chance is to keep Kobe from penetrating to the lane while collapsing on him, leaving guys open on the perimeter... having some shotblockers on the team will help them play single man on Kobe... they need to try & make the Lakers beat them from the perimeter & not get wide open easy looks off penetration... can't be leaving guys like Fisher, Vujacic, Walton & Farmar wide open beyond the arc when Kobe penetrates to the hole, which is obviously easier said than done... i bet DEN wouldn't mind having Camby on the roster again right about now.
