Hedo is going to be the reason the Magic get to the ECF. 25pts 12asts 5rebs 8-11FG and the game is still going. clutch play after clutch play in a Game 7 on the road.

Yes. Unless Gallo is better than Jordan, he's a bum. It's those stiff legs dammit.

Seriously? Hedo was like a bit role player until last season. Suddenly, we need to aspire that a pick 6 player turns into this?

if Gallo ends up being Hedo at his peak i'll take it, but when u use a #6 pick you'd hope for him to develop faster than it took Hedo to come into his own... it was 8 years before Hedo truly broke out as a player... my hope is that Gallo will turn into at least a 17 ppg scorer in this league before his 4th year in the NBA.

If Galinari follows Turkoglu's career path he won't be on this team in 5 years. It took him a while to develop.

Nobody around here has that kind of patience.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

gallo is going to be better than dirk, this hedo talk is unfounded. hedo took forever to come up and is a 6'10 person that shoots 40, 42% or so

I'll take a Turkoglu ceiling and I think that's realistic provided he's healthy. The current Turkoglu's a heck of a player... We gotta see with Gallo during the summer league if he decides to play. That'll be step 1. If he's aggressive and starts putting the ball on the floor we'll be in good shape. If he just fades out to a corner spot looking to jack up 3s then we're in trouble. I wanna see Gallo's full game - the game we've seen in the Euro. clips and in that small body of work in that summer league game against the Cavs before he got hurt. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to see any of that because the back wouldn't allow it. All we saw was a very good stand-still deep shooter. He's got some nice skills. It's all up to what the back allows him to do. I've read that he feeling good though...

the current turkoglu is a 30 year old guy that shoots 42 on the season and 39 for the playoffs. i think with gallo's touch he will be dropping 20 by his third or fourth year and shooting lights out.

I'm not sure if Gallo's contributions long term will be judged primarily on his ability to score. Maybe he's be one of those glue guys (a la Kukoc), more about his overall versatility and utility than being the #1 or #2 scorer on the team.

I could see him having more impact as a 13ppg/5rpg/5apg player than an undersized wing like Eric Gordon, who might become a 20ppg scorer one day who's on the wrong end of a mismatch every night (besides, undersized SGs are a dime a dozen in the NBA!).

Then again, maybe he could be a 20+ppg/8+rpg guy in the future, if he sticks around with the Knicks into his mid to late 20s (which is highly debatable - the previous longest tenured players drafted by the Knicks were probabably Ewing, then Charlie Ward. Look at us now. We have a 16ppg/12rpg player in Lee, yet there's debate about whether we should hold on to him. We had a 20ppg/11rpg guy in Randolph and we traded him for an player who never suited up.

Stop the comparisons already!

I want Gallo to become Gallo. For him the biggest thing is being healthy. If he does, will be talking about how good he is and wont need to compare him to anyone.

Turk is a nice player now. I think Gallo has more of a stars mentality at this point than Turk had when he came in. That's the big difference to me. Gallo when healthy will be more aggressive. I think the back was his biggest problem. I just hope he heals up so we can see the real Gallo.

Turkoglu was originally brought in as a role player. He was never touted as some big time Euro guy. He did his job on the Kings and then was traded to become a starter elsewhere. Only then did he flourish. Still, I'd aim for Gallo to be better than that.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I'll take anything at this point. I just want his ass back on the court.

I cannot make any assesment on Gallo until I know how his back is when the season starts. If he is still complaining then I don't think he will be good as Hedo. He will be a marginal player at best. If he is 100% then look for him to become one of the better players in the league. A player that averages 20,8,5.

No expectations. He has the talent and I like his game on the court and I like how he puts effort on the D' but we still don't have a clue no matter what his "lovers" and his "Haters" say.

For the record, I always liked Turk even when he was just a role player.

Gallinari is clearly a better shooter than Turkoglu, but I think as far as their other skill sets they are somewhat similar. Passing, rebounding, etc. If Gallinari turns into a Hedo type who shoots 48% instead of 40%, I'd be okay with that.

Gallinari's game will be similiar to Dirk's game. He'll probably grow another inch and stand at 6'10 with a dealy shooting touch.

Only negative is his rebounding. Dirk was a natural rebounder but Gallinari needs to improve that area. I think he'll be a more physical player as he gets older. only 19 so far

I always agree with you nixluva. I definately agree here.

Truth be told....Turk was a puss when he came in the league. He used to get screamed at by those vets on the Kings cuz he was so timid. Gallo is not a *****. He showed good energy, and fed off the crowd. He's definately not afraid to play basketball. Another thing Gallo is not afraid of confrontation. I can't remember if it was Charlotte or Pheonix but one of those teams were shoving him everytime he passed them and he was shoving back and jawing at them.

As far as Turk's game in 2009....I think Gallo will be playing at that level either by the end of this coming season or the next. Gallo is no Channing Frye, Sweetney, etc.
