Just looking around the league right now i think we have less then 10 sure hall of famers compared to the 80s and 90s...leaving Duncun, Kg, Kobe, Pierce, Kidd and shaq of the 2k list, what do you have

SURE HOF 2k
Chris paul
Wade
LB

Potetial HOF
Brandon Roy
D Howard
Yao Ming
Deron Williams
A I

It's probably a few more names I could put out there, but the overall picture is Bleak, back in the 80s and 90s you had one per team. I can't figure out why there so few flat out super star hall of famers. It maybe a little early in the 2k to judge it but were coming up on the first decade and the NBA ain't producing like it use to, and the Rules are inflating stats at a record pace.
As great as Labron is, the rules allows him to penetrate at will, hard fouls are now flagants and suspensions, the refs have dictated most of the out comes of these games, and to be honest BOSTON ( who I always hated ) seems to be the only team Im rooting for, and the only team in the playoffs worth watchng.

A I... Im not so sure, especially after this past season. actually the last couple of season he has been voted into the all star game by the fans base on name alone. His denver and detroit stint has me questioning his true disire to win. I actually can't wait to see where in ends up next season, and how much he gets.

why aren't those others part of the 00's?

then ewing, barkley, malone, hakeem, dominque, stockton, robinson, dumars, jordan, etc. are 80's hof'ers, no?

what's the criteria then?...must be drafted within 5 years of the decade?

then half of all players are somehow counted with the previous decade, is what it sounds like.

it takes 5 years, at least, sometimes for some players to become hof level.

and secondly you left out more than a few hof-level players who made their names during the 00's....

nash
amare
parker
ginobli
nowitzki
vince
melo
at least one player on the championship pistons (billups is my guess)

and there are some others who could make it in if they keep things up (howard, joe johnson or bosh)...but those i listed are pretty much certified for the hof.

I think there are alot of guys like a Vince Carter who will eventually make it also. I think every era has their stars. The Jordan/Ewing era was great because the Knicks were so good.

I agree... his game slipped after the little man took an insane beating in the lane night in, night out. What he could do with the rock in his prime stupefies me

Man, A.I is a First Ballot HOF...crazy that some people are trying to argue that it is questionable that he would even make it in.

Definitely media influenced

the reason that the 2ks have less HoFers than the 80s and 90s is because the 2ks aren't done yet. the players from the 80s and 90s have retired long ago.

ai had great stats, and he'll be in the hall of fame, but he is very much overrated and was never able to strengthen his brain into a winning brain. he remains a losing-brain.

Did he have a "losing brain" when he took an average at best Phily squad, put them on his back, and took them all the way to the finals?

Easy to start beating up on somebody when they are declining and have obviously lost a few steps.

yes, he did have that losing brain, even then. his will is so strong that somehow that year they squeezed into the finals..and don't forget the great larry brown was the coach of that team. he is a coach that squeezes the most out of each and every player.

you can't forget that he struggled to shoot 40% for his whole career, that he needed how many shots to put those points on the board...that he was a horrible example for younger players his WHOLE CAREER, INCLUDING DENVER (as we saw in that billups article a few days ago)...all this combined means that he has a losing-brain. he could've won multiple championships if he had ever developed a winning-brain.

for real, some of these cats are buggin' bigtime... Allen Iverson was the most prolific little man to ever play the game & they wanna sit here & act like he's overrated or something... if anything, he's severely underrated by a lot of fans because of the bad rap he has of being selfish & not easily coachable... i have no idea how anyone can even question what he's been able to accomplish on a personal level.

dear tms,

no one is questioning what iverson accomplished on a personal level, an individual level. sadly, basketball, last i checked, is a team sport. and he has accomplished nothing on this level.

he went to the finals with a larry brown team, and this is his greatest achievement.

he has been nothing but a bad, a horrible, example for younger players during his entire career. from his 'practice??' stunt to his partying ways in denver (as evidenced in the billups article on this forum).

he was never a leader, only a selfish little man with a lot of talent and a lot of heart-- all misguided and misused over a great individual career that could have been an exemplary one filled with multiple championships.

with his skills, his talent, and his heart, do you really think he was a great basketball player? he could've dished it with the best of them, set a great example for his teammates, and led his team to crazy heights.

alas, he did none of this. he chucked shots up like no other and struggled to shoot 40% from the field in many seasons.

edit:

a note to the kiddies-- cultivate a winning brain first, then work on your game..or do both at the same time. but your game, no matter how nice, is WORTHLESS without a winning brain.

um, personal achievements gets you into the HOF... not on how much of a great teammate you were over your career... i don't care if you like AI or not during his playing days or enjoyed his style of basketball, give the man his due... he was the most prolific small man scorer ever to play the game & you'd have to be crazy to think he's not HOF worthy.

um, personal achievements gets you into the HOF.

Now that this is settled we can move on to another topic. A.I has made questionable moves over the years, no doubt, but dont deny the man's talent and accomplishments.
