No this is totally smart. He put so much pressure on SVG to win that his firing will only be a formality if they should lose the series. He has the blessing of the franchise player and he is well respected by management. Ewing has learned how to play the game in the coaching world.

it's deeper than a romanian well. but this isn't what's going on, you give too much credit to ewing. he is just trying to pump his team up by doing the classic 'we will win' thing, but it will backfire, because guarantees in sports are about as valuable as salt water is in the ocean. i hope, just because of this now, that the magic lose. congratulations ewing, you've made me like the celtics.

He's my favorite player ever but damn I'd swear he drinks before media interviews.

As to the Magic there is no excuse to be in a game 7 with a badly injured Celtics team. I don't know if this just means that Boston is THAT good or if it means that Orlando and SVG are chokers. The latter seems to be credible though.

I'd really like to see a Magic-Nuggets finals. Doesn't seem likely though.

laugh. Yeah, no doubt. Ewing is the last cat that needs to be handing out guarantees given his history, and how the hell are you going to guarantee something when you're not playing.
