There was a bit on the radio yesterday about people who buy TV boxsets and watch them all in a row. I remember watching 24 season 1 straight through, and Ive watched the West Wing straight through all 7 season 3 times so far. Much better then waiting for each episode to come out.

But it made me wonder what people think is the best TV show ever produced?

West Wing
Coupling (UK)
Friends
Greys Anatomy

Its not even a contest for no. 1 IMO. The West Wing was the most well written, well performed show ive ever seen. Every character perfect. Greatest first episode, greatest season endings (end of season 1 was voted best tv finale). Just...greatest. Nothing beats it. What are you guys' top shows?

the wire is my favorite show ever. obviously seinfeld's a classic.

Yeah Seinfeld was good, but it was too light for me. Never seen the Wire, heard its awesome. Waiting for a couple seasons to watch at once.

seinfeld, by far, hands down, greatest show in human history.

i love lucy is a close second, with the office a distant, distant third.

I tried Fringe and lost interest. Watched the first 2 series of Lost and just got tired of the same dradded-on storyline. Quit Prison Break cuz I thought 1st season finale was the worst ever.

The Wire is a so scary because it is the most realistic show I ever seen and gave you insight into the problems of the urban city every week.

The Sopranos I consider to be one of the most overrated shows ever. The first two seasons were really good after that it became mostly mediocre.

couldn't agree more man, the wire is so good its just ridiculous. it should be required viewing for seniors in high school or something, its just relevant to so many different things. you understand socioeconomics, politics, the drug war, police, politicians, education -- its all encompassing and manages to do it while keeping it entertaining.

i would agree with bitty, loved seasons 1 and 2 of the wire, thought 3 was good, but thought the rest definitely lost some steam. christopher was my favorite character, and i actually loved the final episode, thought that was real well done.

You know, I used to think that until I went back and watched all seasons. They are all pretty consistent. The first two seasons were very very good but the quality didn't really suffer that much. It slowed down a little but I like how they show Tony becoming a better family (father and godfather) man over time.

The Wire is definitely one of the best ever!
Anyone else watch Deadwood? That show was great!
First season of Prison Break and 1st season of Burn Notice.
Also, Weeds, Entourage!


I dont watch TV for a month and then spend a weekend on hulu catching up!
