Subterfuging two of the most storied franchises in pro sports at once takes hard work, but Dolan has managed both. The business tycoon took a controlling stake in Cablevision in 1999, and immediately both of his marquee sports properties -- the Knicks and the NHL's Rangers -- tailspun into the most futile eras of their respective histories. The Knicks have been particularly bad, with eight straight seasons of less than 40 wins and one playoff appearance. Most embarrassing was Dolan's stubborn loyalty to Isiah Thomas who, in his 4 1/2 years with the team, failed miserably in his countless attempts to retool the roster, including continuing Dolan's habit of grossly overpaying for oft-injured and underperforming stars like Stephon Marbury.

knick bashing. He's not worse than the Grizzles guy, and certainly not worse than Cohan of the warriors.

Dolan is the worst owner in the history of professional sports. He's probably paid about ten times more per win than the next worst owner has.

Not only did we lose, but we lost and embarrassed ourselves consistently.

LOL @ him being worse than Cohan. The Warriors didnt make the playoffs for 14 years! They have made some of the worst personnel decisions in the history of the league.

The Grizzlies owner is a snake, and save for a couple of years the Grizz have always been embarrassing.

And where is the Hornets owner?

Dolan spends money, he has just put his trust in the wrong people. Hopefully he got it right with Walsh.

disagree with that assessment. he’s made the nyknicks synonymous with ridicule and derision in any sports punchline. none of those other owners accomplished that. plus he managed to have by far the very worst ratio of player salaries to wins. plus sexual harassment lawsuits filed and found against his franchise, millions upon millions paid out to coaches who were sent home and to players who were exiled. all on his watch. and don't forget made the brilliant decision to EXTEND isiah thomas, already knowing what he had wrought.

The Grizzlies have fans?

I've watched a few Memphis games. Their attendance couldn't fill a Dodge Neon much less an entire arena.
