What's wrong with a little creativity, specially since some, didn't say most, some of those names are ok? Imagine if we were all called Steve, Larry or Joe?

That's a nice group I'd like to jump back into the high 2nd for a lot of those guys - especially Christmas, Green, Williams, Young and Pendergraph

Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Sorry, i dont get it. there are many cool names out there without looking like you picked your kids name out of a scrabble board.
What's wrong with their names? I have 4 children and I named the first 2 Samantha and Daniel and the 2 younger ones Jolina and Benicio. To each their own brothah. Different does not mean they are bad.

Seriously, where do these guys get their names from? I mean, Tyrese, Elroy, Jevohn? Dionte? What happened to good ol' Steve or Joe?
You look at pro US sports and there are some of the weirdest names ive ever heard.
Plaxico Tyreke Anfernee Jerryd Javaris Udonis DeAndre LeBron Amar'e DeJuan Jrue DeMarre Flozell Marion (someone called their frickin boy Marion!!)
I could go on. What the hell, was everyone high 20 years ago? Oh, right. Question answered.
A lot of kids with African and other foreign descend. But who cares - they have an opportunity to make their name in NBA and then it will be known in US.

Didnt say bad, I said wierd. And I think Benicio is an awesome name.
I agree everyone is different. Im happy everyone can choose different names for their kids. A lot of you would prolly think my kids names are wierd. But I do reserve the right to make fun of them.
Also, I get that some names are of different cultural origin and I wasnt talking about them. But Jrue? Thats not cultural, thats just a funny name.
Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not?

I named my son Luke, but that was only because my ex wife shot down my first two choices which were Mephisto and Captain Awesome. If I knew then what I knew now would have told her to piss off and he would have been Captain Awesome Mephisto (Irish last name)

Children should be given some form of generic/temporary name, or even a number, until they reach an age when they can choose their own name (identity), and not be burdened for life because of the whims of a parent or parents who decided to name them "Moon Dust" or some other foolish name.
I am sure that some people on UK would rather have been named differently.
Just something to ponder.

"weird" is usually in the eye of the beholder, as can be "beauty."
vegemite is a very popular spread in austrailia, but to others (probably most americans, for example) it is considered "weird."
beans and toast to americans might seem weird as well, or vinagar on chips/fries.
"stinky tofu" is a popular street food in some asian countries, but is probably considered very odd and hard to eat for most westerners.
being heavier and curvier at one point in western european history (victorian era) was considered attractive whilst in contemporary european based high fashion it is to be boy-like skinny (for men and women), while african-american and hip-hop oriented, and some other american standards of beauty (for men and women) usually contrast this.
to some the desire to live in a city filled with graffiti is "weird," and for others living in a rural more isolated environment seems just as "weird."
