What has this guy done that would make Walsh want to hire him? Golden State is in a shambles and the bad contracts Mullin gave out were some of the worst in the league. This dude is on the Kevin McHale level of GMs. Just say no Walsh.

Mully got castrated about 18 months ago and really has not been calling the shots. THe owner is an ass who never let him walk. Mully stayed and got paid.

Why are is there a new thread for Mully?

Mullin did get Baron Davis to Golden State for nothing. He did draft Monta and Biedrins as well.

I think those 3 moves right there are pretty good. I'm not trying to make him out to be Jerry West, but he's certainly not Isiah Thomas.

My guess is the a good part of what Mullin's role would be to grease the wheels and channels to other teams, and this is under the assumption that Donnie is still the person involved with the last decision approval. It's about who you know and talent evaluation.

Mullin is a slight nod above Layden...Slight...We draft Curry and add Mullin to the front office, Knicks will be the same organization the next 5 years unless 2010 turns into a miracle...We need devine intervention...

How is this different than Isiah giving out favors to old cronies? I get the feeling more and more that Donnie really doesn't take his position with the Knicks seriously. I get the feeling he views this as his last big payday before retirement. If it works out great, if not then oh well, I see you around because I made my money type of attitude. I would be on board with Mullin to immediately replace Walsh just because of this attitude and I don't think much of Mullin as a GM.

You feel more and more like Donnie doesn't his position seriously? Why?

Seems as if newspaper fodder influences your opinion about the team.

If all Donnie was doing was taking old members if his inner crew, Mark Jackson would be coach, Glen would be out, Houston would have never been here, etc.

Pharz, I'm not trying to rag on you, but I think Martin is right and I know we've had this discussion with you before about what is said in papers...

He's a NYC boy who, I am sure, cares about his legacy in the sport and in this city. He was brought in to give the organization an air of respectability, but I am sure that he also understood, and may have made the stipulation himself, that he was only going to be doing the job for a few years before handing the reigns over to his successor.

Regardless if Donnie is taking the position seriously or not, I dont want Mullin anywhere near the Knicks.

His resume speaks for itself. Its one of the worst in the NBA.

He traded contract year Dampier for 10 mil in cap space and 2 firsts. that deal alone nullifies all bad contracts he handed out
