Curry to the Knicks?

Stephen Curry

A rumor that has been gaining steam is that the Knicks will select Stephen Curry with their 8th pick. We've received word that there could be truth to this from inside sources claiming that Curry chose to put his name into the draft this year based on the Knicks assuring Curry that they would use their lottery selection to draft him.

Obviously a lot could happen between now and the draft. The Knicks could always win the lottery (they're not using a top 3 pick on him) or trade their pick.

But it appears to be a legitimate possibility that if the Knicks have the 8th pick on draft night they will use it on Curry. Curry's game would fit extremely well in Mike D'Antoni's wide open style and his scoring ability would be enhanced.

I hope that this only a rumor b/c I rather have Earl Clark, Johnny Flynn, or Tyreke Evans.

As I've said before, I'm neither excited or mad with a Curry pick. I think he's going to turn out to be a pretty good player and he's always going to work his ass off. Tyreke Evans, Brandon Jennings, DeRozan are all flashier picks and I have to say I'd probably want all 3 over Curry, but I wouldn't be mad. I actually think Curry is going to make a good NBA PG.

i think all three you're listing are unlikely to be picked by the knicks if we're at 8.
Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...

Curry reminds me of Sam cassell minus the motor mouth....yet he worries me that he might be like a certain blue devil playing for orlando

JJ Reddick doesn't have half the game that Curry has..

More like Danny Ainge. Remember Cassell had a post game, and his spin move made it easy to drive to the lane.

The Knicks seem to feel the need to let everyone know who they are picking earlier every year. It doesn't make sense and takes away some of the flexibility that they have to make moves around the draft.

Teams do this all the time. It could be Curry's camp that is leaking out the information to increase his stock.

The past two years these rumors were dead on with Gallo and Chandler.

But only the Knicks make the news. Seriously this is ridiculous if its truth. They don't know yet where they will be picking as they can move up or down. And what is the deal with doing this on a guy that while talented may not be the best player available when we pick?

If this is truth its another ridiculous move by the Knicks. Hopefully they won't be able to make this mistake as they may move up to get a serious talent.

Well I mentioned Cassell and Riddick due to their impacts on the game......Curry strikes me as a winner. A guy that's totally in the game. Knows when to pass, who to pass to, when to score....not flashy at all but gets the job done. Extreamly good poise....poise that champions have. That's the Sam Cassel part I see in him.

But then I see the Riddick....the skills that dominate college but disappear into the pro ranks.

This probably means Nate is gone, right? Sign and trade with Jefferies to Kings back on for a guy like Kenny Thomas and the #23 draft pick?

I like Stephen, he would thrive here.

As much as I want to shore up our defense, I think Curry is a safe bet if we don't move into the top 3.

Curry is one of a number of D'Antoni types who will be available in this draft.

I see your point.

Yeah Sam Cassell is clutch as they come. He never got the props he deserved no matter how many teams he turned into winning teams or brought a team to the next level.
