...if he doesn't get $8M.

LINK
SLAM contributor J. Gamble [making his debut with us next issue] hears from a close personal friend of Rasheed Wallace’s that unless Sheed gets $8 million to play next year, he’s going to retire. If that’s true, we’ve probably seen the last of Sheed in the NBA.

One name: Latrell Sprewell.
-- the preceding post was brought to you by the letter K and the number 22.

Damn. Yeah that is Spree worthy. But Spree was right, he did need the money to feed his family.

MILWAUKEE - Former NBA star Latrell Sprewell's home is up for foreclosure and his yacht sold at auction to help pay off the $1.3 million he owes on the boat, according to court filings. Sprewell, who once turned down a three-year,$21 million contract extension saying, "I've got my family to feed," has apparently fallen on tough times.

I think he could be worth at least $6 mil next year to the Celtics (acquired via sign and trade). His perimeter shooting would spread the floor perfectly and he still plays good defense and is insurance against a big man injury.

Sheed you dumb ****. Sign with the Spurs for a bit more than the vet minimum. And go and shine next to Duncan for a chance at a ring!!!!!

What is wrong with guys like him? Hell, he should call up T-Crap and the two of them should sign there for the minimum. Sheed starting, TCrap off the bench for 20 minutes a game. A healthy Duncan, Parker, Manu.

Legit shot at a title.

Sheed already got his ring as a legit starter but for nothing else together they can form Voltron.

The Spurs time as a legit title contender is over. Sheed shouldn't go there.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

That depends solely on the health of the big 3.

They're all here through 2011 I think so that means they are contenders.

They're the only team I know of to be dominant and win numerous titles and yet.... not be called a dynasty. Bah...semantics.... Certainly the MOST BORING TEAM to ever win multiple titles.

is it possible to offer him $8 mil for 1 year along w/the rights to their #15 pick in a S&T in exchange for D Lee?

the Lakers could use a guy like Sheed. i think he'll sign with a true contender and be a valuable guy off the bench.

Will his ego get in the way if he's asked to be a bench player? He's got a pretty big ego if he's demanding $8 mil per year at this stage in his career. But I agree that he could be an outstanding 6th man on any title contending team, and he could really make an impressive ending to his career.

Are 6 mils worth driving you health into the ground?
And then spending all this money on doctors and painkillers?
He has enough money already and some involvement in business, investments...
He can get some front office or union jobs too.
