Griffin - Karl Malone + hops, a certain all star

Rubio - an athletic Andre Miller (which is a huge compliment)

Thabeet - Samuel Dalembert (not ready to say Mutumbo)

Harden - Michael Redd

Jennings - a lefty Sebastian Telfair

Derozen - a very raw Andre Iguodala

Lawson - TJ Ford

Hill - not high on him, don't see much better than JJ Hickson

Curry - Mike bibby, spot on

Tyreke Evans - Corey Magette

Ellington - not good, maybe Von Wafer

Flynn - Tim Hardaway if he develops a J

Clark - Charlie Villanuava (in that he'll tease you with his skills, but production won't be there)

Henderson - Kellene Azuibuke

The Pistol comp has validity but I see him as a pass 1st true PG whereas Pistol was a guy that passed only if was a sensational pass opportunity. Sort of like Jason "white chocalate" Williams. More interested in the "show" than making the right play.

and to be clear....I realize as a scorer, White Chocalate wasn't in Pistol's league

lol. then there must have certainly been an awful lot of "sensational" opportunities for him to have averaged 6.9 apg one season, and 6.7, 6.2 and 6.0 others.

My only question is on Flynn. If he doesn't have the jumper now, then how can he be compared to Hardaway? Didn't he come in with a jumper?

Johnny Fynn has a great jumper I dunno where that's coming from....to me Flynnis more like Kevin Johnson. Or Terrell Brandon.

haha, yea, man, thats funny, i heard in europe averaging 5 or 6 is like averaging 13 in the nba though, i dont know. he rubio will average 10.2 ppg, 2.1 rpg, and 8.0 apg in his rookie year, roy.

Btw, pistol pete was one of the greatest scorers and ball handlers that ever walked the planet earth.....only thing I see in Rubio's game that's similiar is skin color and hair style. He does dribble high....but I think comparing him to Clyde Frazier is closer....even though Clyde too is a 50 greatest player in the NBA, their games are very similiar. Clyde's goto move was the behind the back dribble and Rubio uses it as well. Both guys dribbled high and always looking around. Zero flash but very effective....and great defenders.

Pistol wasn't a PG though. He was a SG who liked to put the mustard on the hot dog w/ his passing. He also played in a loose-y, goose-y era and an era in which people at his height rarely played guard.

He had deep range his freshman year. Greene, Harris and him launched from everywhere. It wasn't winning basketball.

He seemed to lose his shot a bit this year, but he was much more focused on setting people up.

I'd like to see him go to a team that already has good offensive players like Rose did. He could make a team like Golden State much better.

If he comes in to a team that needs him to score, I think he'll struggle.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

that comparison is crazy - so he's better than Karl Malone now?

That kid has a wake-up call coming just like Beasley did.

There are reports coming out the Blake Griffin might be 6'6, so you might have to compare him to Charles Barkley with hops.

I doubt it. Despite his height, he is still the best player in the draft.

I do think he's far more explosive & harder working compared to Beasley (who always reminded me of Glenn "big waste" Robinson.

Heck- I've been saying that he is probably between 6'7" and 6'8," but even I would find it hard to believe that he is only 6'6."

Any source on this one??
