If Bauer dies, the series is over. The only viable replacement would've been Ricky Schroeder's character from season 6, but good luck getting the same ratings for a show entirely built around a single bad-ass character in Bauer. So, if their intention is to end the series after season 7, then yes. Otherwise, I think Jack somehow makes it. I think they may end the season being non-conclusive, where maybe they stop the threat and then Jack collapses and the season ends, and then we don't know until season 8. When season 8 starts, we suddenly find out that Kim turned around and acted as the donor or something; who knows. That would be my guess.

that ricky shroeder character died i think. jack isn't going to die. i think they have one more season yet. we will see what happens though tonight. also the best candidate was tony but we all know what happened to him.

the actor that plays jack was arrested for assault of an elderly woman the other day. he also did the voice overs for the hit console game, call of duty: world at war, it seems.

Only if they want the show to get canceled. There's a reason why Kim is no longer a main character. After the cougar scene in season 2, it was clear that they were going to give her mostly silly plot lines.

I think a big reason for that is because Elisha Cuthbert had a burgeoning film career and was going to walk as soon as she could get out of her contract. Now, she has no film career, unless seh wants to get topless, and likely wants back on the show.

the finale was the best in a long time and maybe the best ever for this show ( though the "death handshake" of president palmer ranked up there also). the best thing about this finale was seeing jack in a different light. never had we seen him so vulnerable yet strong. his human side comes to light and his reasoning about doing what he does is one of the best dialogue this show has ever had. amazing acting from keifer sutherland. also painting tony as a tragic character is not easy to do but they accomplished this in this episode. did the finale have flaws? sure it did. to have the "shadow villian" come out of hiding the way he did was inplausible as well as the fact the show did not take a risk and let somone "die" in dignity but used a well place "life preserver" in the last two minutes of all things made this finale close to laughable. however, jack was definately the star of this show and he lifted this finale out of mediocrity.
