It was just reported on ESPN. Second youngest MVP. Wes Unseld is the first, back in 1969.

Now he's gotta get that ring. He almost got there with a much worse team than this one.

Good for LeBron.. gonna be the first of many, hopefully the rest are won with New York on the front of his jersey.

Well then, unless the #2 was a PG, Stephon still is the best PG in the game.

Strange they announce the MVP before the MIP. I think they are having a tough time with that one.

well deserved. i thought he should have it last year, too, but it's ok. this is the first of MANY, MANYYYYY MVP awards for this young fella, and possibly the first of many championship banners.

MIP.... outside of Devin Harris *NJN* and Danny Granger *IND* who else is deserving? Jameer Nelson did well but did not have the increase in play that the other two did.

I can't see this being a tough decision. I think Devin Harris is it.

As to MVP - LeTravel James deserves it. Kobe should be an RCH behind him in voting. Prima Donna Wade should be eons behind those two but for some reason he was on everyone's radar late this season for the award.

Cavs got a little pressure on 'em. Coach of the year and MVP heading into the later playoff rounds.

They'll win the East but I think that's as far as they go.

I think they have a far easier path to the finals then say the Lakers. Thats one thing, I think, they have going for them.

But yeah, I would favor the Lakers if they met in the finals. If the Lakers dont make it, then Lebron wins or at least has a much better shot.

Devin Harris didn't improve as much as people think. His shooting volume increased by a lot which actually produce worse production numbers. For example his assist/turnover ratio didn't increase at all. While his scoring increased his shooting % decreased particularly his 3 point shooting. He didn't even improve in any other statistics. If they didn't see fit to give it to him last season I find it hard to believe he gets it this season based on those facts.

Granger improved but was rewarded with all-star honors. I doubt they give him the MIP because it defeats the purpose of the award. His next step is MVP not MIP. That's like giving Amare MIP the same year he got his all-star honor because his numbers jumped up.

My thinking it is coming down between Durant and Lee and possibly Chandler whose numbers actually increased more than any other in the running but that comes with increase playing time unlike the others. I think Durant or Lee will get the nod. The only thing is that Durant is expected to be an all-star so he may not be consider over Lee ala the Amare scenario I just gave you.

That's what they are saying around realgm on other boards but I don't think so. I think Lee takes it over Durant just because more is expected of Durant. Just look at the history of the award and its past winners.
