It's so easy to correct. Just take one look at free throws. Nate is settling for jumpshots and playing deep in the perimeter instead of attacking the basket. When he plays smart--he can get 20 points -4-4 with ease. When he plays deep and doesnt use the drive to separate--he is not nearly as effective.

Wait. I thought he was a superstar simply because he can create his own shot, no ?

Boy did that one get squashed pretty quick.

This is how Nate will be his whole career. You can't depend on him.

Yea, I noticed this too. If you look at his stats during his 'run' in March, we didn't win many games when he was putting up those numbers-- or as I like to call it, 'getting his'. He knows that he won't be here and I think he just used this season, especially the latter part, to boost his $$$-value. This seems clear. As far as his form the last very few games, it could have something to do with the overall 'tank' mentality of the team; so he gets a pass on that, mostly because it doesn't really matter. What is more telling is, as I stated, his mentality over the entire season.

We must keep this in mind when evaluating MDA's first season here. I think he deserves an A when you consider all these things.

Thats the thing, Elite, it cannot be about the 'heart'. With a clear mind, I don't know how one can support having Nate on this team after this season. The case is too strong against him and his antics this year can serve as a window into his psyche.

The height factor will always keep Nate from being a true superstar. To bad Nate isn't a pg if he could give 15 pts, 9 assists and 3 steals per game he would be a very good pg. But he is a sg and way to small.

It'll keep him from being an all-star. Saying his height will prevent him from being a superstar is pushing it a little. He's not smart enough and doesn't have the IQ to be a superstar.

Nate's year has been the most interesting subplot of this season... Nate went from expendable to Sixth Man of the Year to superstar to Sixth Man of the Year to expendable... I suppose this is called "reversion to the mean"

agreed. i hope we get an asset for him, at least. it would've been nice to trade him at the deadline when his value was at an all-time high.

I'm ok with keeping Nate if the contract is reasonable. Like everyone else, he's somewhere in between his best and worst games. All in all, he is an asset - particularly as a spark off the bench.

Nate played hard for us. He was one of the sparks that helped us more that hurt us. Lee and Nate won't get what they are looking for. Lee will be lucky if her is offered 7 million and Nate 5 mil.
