if the knicks don't jump to the top3 and hang around where they normally are at 7-8-9, who's the better PG prospect?

briggs i know you have been sweating evans lately, admit it though, conf-usa is weak. his size is nice, without a doubt.

i've been very impressed with lawson this year, i never really got the hype coming out of oak hill (best player EVER at oak hill, best HS PG in the country as an underclassmen, etc etc), i thought he really put it together down the stretch. clearly NC's best player and most important player this yr, absolutely UNSTOPPABLE in traffic, literally a one man fast break. watching this guy push it with NC was great basketball to watch, nobody could stop them. if steve nash can win 2 MVPs in SSOL, who knows what the potential for lawson is. i think he's legit though. i think n8 the great is also as good as gone, so a PG it is.

to tell you the truth i'd be happy with either.

I think Lawson is smallish--I think we need to look for bigger players. Guys in the NBA will pick him apart in the defensive halfcourt.

Im looking

Griffin
Evans
Derozan

i hear you about the size, and like i said, i'm not unhappy if we get evans. that being said, i honestly don't think there could be a point guard better fit for running and gunning w/ d'antoni than lawson. he seems to thrive more the faster the game gets.

Parcells had a saying that speed wears down over the course of the season, but size doesn't wear down. There are guys like Lawson further down in the draft. He just looks better because he's on UNC.

I like Evan's much better than Lawson -- to me Lawson is a back-up. Doug Gotlieb who I respect said the same thing on the radio yesterday.

I actually would take a shot at Drue Holiday and Johnny Flynn over Lawson and I wouldn't be that upset if we took either guy over Evans. I would however be concerned that Evan's could be a star down the road.

Holiday kind of reminds me of Walt Frazier --- nothing to fancy, under control, plays both ends.

Lawson vs Meeks would be the better argument to me. Both undersized guards that were hugely successful in college, but arguably could struggle in the NBA.

Lawson is way too small, we already are undersized in our back court compared to the elites - we need to get bigger and more skilled.

Ty Lawson to me is Jason Gardner from Arizona years ago. I like Mills from St. Marys much better and lower in the draft

He's better than that--I just don't think he is for us. We need bigger players.

Lawson has no jumper. He played unbelievable in the tourney, but the fact remains he's a Ray Felton clone and he's not as good Felton. So it's not saying a whole lot.

Gardner was first team all american and had a better shot I just think we need to trade for next years draft because this one sucks

We are going to have a lot of spots open on the bench. I think this might be a nice place to pick up some nice players for the long term if we can purchase or acquire additional picks. If we can walk out with Evans/Derozan and Mullens it will really help long term. Evans is a guy who could be an NBA impact type rookie in a fast-paced system. If we can get him to buy into playing PG--where he is as much as focused on the pass and moving the ball to the open man using his high level separation skills as he can weave through the traffic to the bucket--we could have one helluva player. IF H2O works on that jumpshot and he gets solid PG coaching from Dantoni--he's got major upside. Mullens is worth the investment long term--look at the Lakers and Bulls with Jackson--he always has 3 7 footers--time to start adding size to this perpetually small roster. Every year we are the smallest team

I agree with Mullens I wish we could trade and get three bench players but I dont think any of these will be big time starters.

Give me the Thornten kid from LSU in the late second round because he a shooter and I take AJ price to be a backup point. This year is to replenish the bench

To me, skill is more important than size and Lawson is the most skilled pg in the draft. Did someone say Lawson has no jump shot? Is 47% from 3 pt range, no jump shot?

Lawson is a straight bust in the making. No way he makes any significant impact in the pros. His game is pure college.
