What a world of difference having a real 7 footer--I mean different team.

We cant keep going with a 6-9 C and 5 SF's--we need a true C. I don't care what the coaches secret system is--I hope D Walsh understands we need a 7 footer.

You right....haywood has been playing in an uptempo offense for some timenow in washington and has beenpretty servicable...trailer and a defender, rebounder.

How bout a guy like Joel Pryzbilla??? I always liked the dude and he has played a nice role as spot starter the last few years. He's tough and I don't think Portland really appreciates what he brings.

I mean the Knicks had Jared and David Lee....that's the wrong focus....at least with Pryz they could run everyone else around and just have Him essentially doing exactly what Haywood does.

that was a good game and was good to see both haywood and arenas back on the floor. you can see how different that team is w them playing.....but, the real stud last night was darius songalia - he got like 17 and 6 or something but made some really clutch shots down the stretch....also, how about agent zero turning into the double double machine? 11 and 10 last night and 10 more dimes the previous start. i think they said his turnover ratio from those 2 games is 20:1 - i know i know only two games, but still. good stuff.

The Zephers looked very good last nite. They will get a top pick in this years draft.

Perhaps they prefer to trade the pick and make a run next year.

Maybe healthy they are closer than many think. With the salary they have they might prefer to go into "win now" mode.

Berman made a point about Eddy & how at the beginning of the season- or perhaps when MDA was first hired, he said he was going to adjust his system to the best players he had.

I liked the hire of MDA, but I am slowly started to grow a bit weary of this small ball crap. Its just like the year with Chaney & KT when we won 37 games- we got pushed around and jumped over all season long.

I'm less concerned with whether MDA's system can win in the play offs or not- get me there first.

I'm worried that MDA's system and Philosophy are going to cause us to pass on talented players that can have long useful impactful careers (Lopez last year, Thabeet this year?) simply because he doesn't want to adapt.

Riley played showtime & Knicks 90's- Jackson won with no center & then Shaq. There were commonalities in how they coached, but they adapted to their personnel.

No center? What were Bill Cartwright and Luc Longley? Next to the best SG in the game and a top 50 player in Pippen, they are solid centers.

Also, Jackson has run the same Triangle offense wherever he has gone.

I am all for getting a center and I think D'Antoni would not be adverse to a big center as long as he could shoot and run (and I say block and play D). D'Antoni has supposedly coached teams in different ways (in Europe), so I hope he is open minded enough to give it a try if the right player is available. Now, that said, we need a 5 who can run and shoot and fits this SSOL system. If a very good "traditional" center becomes available I don't think it's worth the risk, get someone who fits.

Mr Bill was only there for part of the time, and he was good.

Luc Longley? You are kidding me? He also had what - Bill Wennington?

And yes- the same triangle offense- but he was able to use Shaq in it. Could D'Antoni adopt to having a Shaq in his prime & exploit him to the max? I'm worried the answer is no.
