i think his call of anthony randolph of gallinari will prove to be on the $. obviously i hope not, but i can't even imagine how good this guy would be on the knicks. maybe a headcase? (i'm pulling for the rooster, just saying)

simmons:

SG: He's one of the most breathtaking rookies I've seen in person -- ever -- for all the reasons you just described. There has never been anyone quite like him. He's like a cross between Josh Smith and Lamar Odom, only if you fed him 10 Red Bulls and told him right before the game, "If you can make 10 things happen during the 10 minutes you play tonight, we will quadruple your salary and you will start for the rest of the season" ... and then he does just that, but the coach reneges on the promise so Anthony has a near-crying meltdown on the bench. That's every Anthony Randolph game. I caught him once and, in the span of two hours, he made three "MY GOD!" plays and broke down on the Warriors' bench because Nellie wouldn't put him back in, followed by an assistant consoling him through an entire timeout like Randolph was a third grader who got in trouble for something he didn't do, then had a meltdown and got kicked out of class. It was riveting. The odds of me missing another Clips-Warriors game for the next five years are 10,000-to-1.

In terms of BPA I don't see a guy at 6 who would be considered more of a BPA than Randolph. He has more potential than any of the guards and fits this system perfectly. He can guards bigs or smalls he can play 3-4 hybrid
he's got great ballhandling skills for a very lengthy 6-10 and you can see his agility mobility and athletic ability. I don't see a player CLOSE to him for THIS system at 6 and unless Kevin Love showed some kind of dramatic change Randolph should be the runaway choice at 6 imho. It is very rare to see a 6-10 player with his kind of skill along with his athletic package. He's 6-10 but handles the ball like a guard--he can go in out he can guard 5-1--I HOPE that we are serious about LONG term improvement instead of shot term fixes. We should be better this year but to think we are one point guard away is assinine and these guys who have come in to manange the team have to know that. This has to be a three year approach--getting the BPA in the draft regardless of position for this style of play and making the pick

He might not remind you of Duncan but if Gallinari is better than Lopez I will eat my socks--it's wait and see but

Yeah, it's all good with Randolph. I was high on him too, wanted him. But, Walsh is comparing Gallo to Bird... just saying, give the kid a chance next year to show you what he got...

here is a quote from former University of washington standout will conroy.
Will Conroy, a good friend of Jamal Crawford and a former teammate of Danilo Gallinari's back in Milan, believes that the Italian forward is a keeper.

"He can really play and he knows the game," Conroy told the New York Daily News. "I told Jamal last year that there isn't a better 18-year-old in college basketball."

Gallinari is expected to have back surgery soon to alleviate the pain he has had since the summer

Again, only time will tell at this point..

I think most of us wanted one of Bayless, Randolph or Augustine. It was tough to argue against Danillo at the time because nobody knew jack about him.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I hear you guys on Anthony Randolph but there is something about that kid that tells me he's got some trouble in his future and he won't be a winner.

On the flip side -- despite Gallo's back and his lack of athleticism there is something about this kid that tells me his future is bright, he'll be part of winning teams and with the game on the line in 2-3 years there will be few people in the league we would rather have shooting than the BIG COCK.

In the last few days leading up to last years draft --- I was praying for a trade to land OJ Mayo --- outside of that I was convinced that Eric Gordon was the most sure fire player for us --- and I was intrigued about Westbrook. I did NOT want Gallo because watching the few tapes I saw of him = he looked very slow. I did NOT however realize he was such an outstanding stand still shooter.
