Monroe is listed as a PF, 6'11'', 250lbs. Last year there were people calling for DeAndre Jordon, this kid IMO is Dwight Howard like. I wouldn't mind if the Knicks drafted him and played him at center. What is unique about Monroe is his ability to pass for a big man. If he should enter the draft keep an eye on him he is going to shoot up in the draft rankings.

the local sports yaks in dc think the kid is kinda soft. and honestly, he played soft as well from the games i saw him play. gtown certainly didnt seem to use him effectively, however i didnt pay attention if that was from jt3 coaching style or the kid being raw.

You think John Thompson Sr. could have worked with him, sort of like Mourning and Ewing and brought out more from him? Some say he is a slacker but is it warranted?

i dont think he is a slacker. as one yak put it, the kid is too nice. he would get the ball and pass a bit too much for the locals taste. not agressive enough...

he needs more time in college in my view. he comes out early and doesnt show any desire to score/play better d, he could be a costly pick. compared to the c's that have come out of gtown, this kid has a ways to go unless jt3 really did restrain him.

I saw him play versus WVU live at the Verizon Center and besides being taller than everyone else, he wasn't a noticeable player... I'll pass

When I hear a big man called soft, the first thing I look at is his rebounding numbers. Monroe is 6'11, 250 and pulled down 6.5 boards in 30 minutes of play. That's weak.

He's a sleeper aright. He looks like he's sleeping on the court sometimes. He's Chandler at Center, which is not bad at all, but we need somebody at some position who wants and can take over games.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

The Kid is freshman and to be honest he put up decent numbers very similar if not better numbers than Mullens, and Cole Aldrich from his freshman year. Some sites have him going as high as 3 pick. 12.7 points, 2.5 assists, 6.5 rebs, 1.5 blocks, and 1.8 steals per game. He has a decent handle for that size also. I would take a chance on him possible next Dwight Howard type player. Draft him and have him work with Patrick Ewing. He is gonna be a nice player in the NBA.

Has a lot of talent- another guy who should stay in college for a second year to work on his game and build up his body.

i dont see him having the intimidation factor that good and better c's have. he seems more like a weaker ver of hibbert right now.

LOL, how is Chandler sleeping on the court? The guy is a SF but he is your team's best low post defense intimidator. He plays tough defense and is asked to guard nearly every position on the team. Doesn't complain about injuries, you're not going to hear him give ridiculous android status reports about him being 60-70% healthy. He plays through it. He plays multiple positions and now seems to draw double teams. Because he doesn't grab his balls after he dunks on somebody, he's sleeping. Knick fans, simply too funny.

There is a bit of a consistency thing that Chandler has to work on. Early on in the year he seemed to fade during some games but that has picked up in the later third of the season. Time will tell.
