Ive been watching basketball for 35 years and I don't remember anyone who has played like him. What a frikin package this guy has. Incredible power athleticism agility -he can dribble drive up the court--incredible touch and footwork from every angle on the post. The guy is averaging 30 points 15 rebounds 3 assists shooting 80+ % Ive never seen anyone play better in the NCAAs

Carmelo, Antoine Walker, Khalid El Amin, Latener

Michigan and Syracuse played zone against him and against the 'cuse he was pretty much getting trash buckets, he didn't do anything crazy.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

i remember how hot austin carr of notre dame was.

"Notre Dame legend Austin Carr practically owns half the records in the NCAA Tournament book. Most points in one game (61 vs. Ohio in 1970). Most field goals in one game (25). Most field goals attempted in one game (44). Carr, who also had tournament games of 52 (twice), 47 and 45 points, owns five of the top 12 scoring efforts in March Madness history."

someone has analyzed game tape and said he would have had 70-75 if there had been a 3-point line then.

Dwyane Wade was my absolute favorite NCAA tournament performer. Chris Paul was great too. Garrison Carr was my favorite performer of this tournament.

But Blake Griffin is great. If you look back at my posts from the last draft, Griffin was my choice for the Knicks pick if he declared. God, I wish that had happened. Griffin's dad was a coach and he knows exactly what to do and maximize his talents.

B. Griffin has a physical presence that some of the other guys mentioned did not have. Did Alcindor have any kind of similar run with UCLA?

Please- I have no specific information to make me suspicious- but does anyone think it strange the both Griffin boys are built like tanks, and the older brother, who may be 22 or 23 is already going bald?

The fact that both have similar bodies makes me think their body types are genetic, but Taylor's hair issue, and the amazing build of Blake, who just turned 20 but seems like a man among boys in terms of the physical strength, make me wonder.

I remember Tony Mandarich (sp) the Big Ten lineman who was beast in college but already losing his hair when I saw his picture in an article I was reading about him. He was eventually proven to be a roid user, and never really amounted to anything in the NFL after he was found out. (not sure I got the timing of his story right)

I thought that there were similar rumors going around about Lebron at some point.

Again- I have no specific info or any reason to throw out anything negative about B. Griffin- who seems a great kid with a very mature approach to the game and how he presents himself- I am just wondering.

damn, briggs you've got no shame --- thats a really dangerous approach in this day and age. You just jump from man-to-man without a care. Does Thabeet even know about this?

All I am saying is be careful. Please. There are a lot of STD's out there. Dyckridin can be really bad for your health, brah.

How about Larry Bird. Not just power inside but a great, great outside shot and an amazing passer.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

Hansbrogh was no match for Griffin. He may have played himself right out of the draft in this tournament. Looks like a bit player. If everything else were even, Ed Davis might be starting.

UNC was doubling off of OU's worst shooter on the floor to help with Griffin and OU didn't react well to that. It kept Griffin relatively in check.

He never has to shoot from outside, but you wonder how effective Griffin can be on the next level with no apparent outside shot and being terrible from the line. He's got to develop at least the ability to shoot from ten feet or NBA defenders will just lay off of him.

thanks.

it'll be interesting to see what nba teams end up thinking that his game can translate to at the next level.

Briggs pretty much corners the market when it comes to the draft. I'm a big CBB fan but I figured i would discuss some of the prospects right before the draft when its more relevant. But Briggs started making threads (1,000s of them )in Sept it seems and pretty much tosses up any and every prospect so if any of them blow up (which is highly likely for one of them to) he can pat himself on the back and say "See, I told you we should have drafted so and so...."

First it was Curry, then it was Thabeet, then it was Griffin, then it was Monroe, then it was Mullens, then Derozan, now Griffin again.......

Give Briggy a break, he is not advocating just one player.

ANd a hoop fan does get excited, which is just what he is doingQ

What I saw in BGriff was a star in the making. This kid is crazy athletic and at 6-11 is going to be incredible!

He lacks fundamentals in his paremeter game but he has had little reason to use it. He is a monster inside with quick footwork and power. Karl Malone comes to mind.

The holes in Hansboroghs game is well documented. He is late first found. a quality team like the Lakes bring him in and work him. Good passer, runs the floor good, improving outside shot. Won't be as good as Dlee, but a better defender.
