They might have a chance as long as Mc D is productive when he gets back.
They are gonna make some noise in the east. Its not that rough of a division. I really think they will get the last playoff spot.

Your wrong the division is a lot tougher than you may think and conventional wisdom is screaming at me not to say this.... I think the New York Knicks will make the playoffs this year.

It's a long season... and I think the Knicks this year are a better bunch. We're sorely needing a backup SG; either a guy who can really shot the ball or an athletic man-to-man defender would be be great. A vintage John Starks clone is what we need. Can't we fish around the NBADL or CBA for one? Yeah... we'll still need to dump Harrington/Spoon or someone to make this happen.

There's a major void any time Houston leaves the game... the thing is, Houston needs his rest in order to be effective late in the game.

I don't think we'll be fighting for the 8th spot--- I think seeds 4-8 are wide open at this point. The only teams I can really as locks for the playoffs are the Nets, Pistons, and Hornets. The Knicks are a backup SG (or true 6th man) away from being a really good team. Perhaps the addition of McDyess could be that edge.

I wonder if Kurt Thomas lost so much weight with the idea that he might be playing both forward positions...

Let's go back and check the original records on who said what on NY's season. knicks wins this yr

TFK =less than 44 games

FishMike=Just to sum up:
With healthy Mcdyess I predict 48-34
without I predict 36-46

knicksbabyyeah= 37 without Dice, 44 with Dice.

NYK8= 44 with out Dice,45 n better w/Dice

Technomaster = If McDyess can make a return before January, the Knicks can win 50 games
Without him, they can still be a .500 team with 41 wins.

Swish= I say 40 wins........

CASELOADS= 25 wins, MAX

Hardcore= I give them 30 wins max; 35 wins if Dice comes back.
Save this for the record:
We're a lock for the #1 overall pick this year
Scott LayDown FINALLY gets the sharp end of the guillotine
Dolan the Clown will:
-have control of MSG snatched away by Daddy Dolan who's coming outta retirement to save the business before the rest of MSG and Cablevision ends up like the Wiz.
and/or
-start looking for suitors to sell the MSG conglomerate to

Jazz74= if he is back before january, we could win 44-50 games.

Vmart= KNicks make the playoffs with 42 wins. Without Dice. Dice makes it back and plays 40 games the Knicks make the playoffs with 47 wins.
The team as of now make the playoffs.

Flyingvee= 42 wins

NYBOCKER= The optimist that I am, I say 44+ wins.

Necrom33= NY is going to fade into the "bolivion" of mediocrity this year. 41, 42 wins.

Rain= Prediction - 39.

Playa2= The knicks as is (without dice) will win 44 games, With Dice over that amount.

Prodson= the knicks won't win 44 games.

Triggerfinger = 44 seems a bit out of reach for the Knicks at this point. However if Dyess makes a remarkable recovery they could reach & pass that mark, but I wouldnt bet on it.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

LOL Thanks for quoting me verbatim, Playa.

Now if we trade for Jalen Rose & Crawford, add 10-12 games to that number, whether Dyess contributes or not... and we'll make the playoffs.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

We need to keep losing the games! If the Knicks win, it will hurt the team longer in the long run. Let's look forward to the Knicks in the 2004 Draft.

If no deals are made, if no shakeups happen, don't worry. We'll be well on our way to the #1 Pick of the 2004 NBA Lottery.

I hope so HardcoreKnicksFan. I really do hope so. How would you of liked to get Lebron James in the draft? If we were to of kept losing, we would of gotten him. Well, we would of had to beat out the Caveliers. Heh.

YEah but too bad there's no Lebron coming out next draft. Plus, we have the same record as the Cavs right now, but they'll prolly end up with a better record this season than us.

IMO the same thing that happened last year will happen this year. The whole idea of us going to the playoffs with this team as presently constituted is a joke. A bad joke at that.

Heh. Well, I'm glad you believe we will come behind the Cav's in the standings. I sure do hope so. And the Magic need to start winning!

Looking @ the east which looks like a bigger joke from last yr, any team can make the playoffs, even Orlando at 1 - 10. As of Nov 19th, Atlantic Div., the first place Celtics is 5 - 5, 2nd place Philly is 5 - 6. Knicks can definitely make the playoffs just like anyone else in the east. All they have to avoid is losing games in a bunches. Avoid multiple losing streaks and they'll be find.. This team under the current regime will probably make the playoffs barring any major injuries but as for a championship, no way in the world we'll see that.
The Future. GO KNICKS!

See, even you agree. What's the damn point of being in the playoffs if you can't win the whole thing? There is no reason! The Knicks do not have enough young, high flying, talented players. They have ton's of veterans, but they are TOO SLOW. This is why we need to keep losing the games.
