We worked him out and didn't look to retain him. I bring this up because if you look at Houston's bench and role players they are exceptional. Therefore Houston obviously has some very top level scouting going on. Then you wonder...why would a team with such amazing scouting seek to lock up a player to a multi-year deal that we worked out and let him walk away just a week or two earlier?

The Rockets have signed guard James White to a multiyear contract.

White originally signed a 10-day contract with Houston on March 3, then signed a second 10-day contract on March 13.

He had been playing in the NBA's developmental league for the Anaheim Arsenal, where he averaged 25.9 points, five rebounds and 2.5 assists in 34 games.

41 minutes a game and 55% FG! That is impressive, look at his numbers and game log.

Not a great 3 point shooter, but seems like he can score. Also, a steal a game. 5 rpg at the SG position is nice.

I think Nichols is a pretty good shooter though and he might fit in well here. Both players have SG/SF size. Nichols is the better 3 point shooter, but averaged 5 less points per game, same rebounds, assists and steals roughly.

Bah Nichols is a BUM I think that's obvious.
Meanwhile it's decision day on him I think (or maybe tomorrow).

Can we just do the right thing and release him and then call up Walker Russell JR, the guy who always plays well in SL, plays tough, smart, solid passer...to be a backup PG on a 10-day deal? Never understood why we never gave him a shot all these years. Always liked what I saw of him. Always thought he'd be a very good 3rd string PG for any NBA team and a decent backup PG for crappy NBA teams, like, us for example lol.

Seriously, why is Nichols a bum? (From my memory I know it's an overused word in NY ;) I don't know much about him so don't know why you are saying that. The only thing I can think of his how he ditched his agent and was released by us cause he wouldn't go to Europe. But I respect his right to follow his dream. Also, I respect his shooting, just don't know about him as a person.

I'm excited more about this years draft. We can get another first round pick and probably get somebody better than any player (by far) in the Dleague.

Nichols could always shoot and play defense. He was a forward at Syracuse, so his handle has always been his limitation as far as the NBA.

I don't know why he can't be a spot up shooter in the league.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I'm with it Cosmic...Walker Russel Jr looks like a pro point guard. I mean at this point the Knicks basically folded...its time to work guys out and see what they can do. At this point I think Walker Russell is a better point guard than Chris Duhon!!!
