At this point the team seemed to have given up...while at the same time they are breaking down with injuries.

Time to start:
Wilcox
Wilson
Courtney Sims
Nate
Nichols

lets just do it starting the next game and just prepare for next season.

No, there's too much good to come from this playoff push. The culture has to change right now, whatever that means.

Tanking is stupid and not an option.

At least this is what I've been told for the past few months.

The Knicks are still mathematically viable for the playoffs, so why now? Nothing has changed. All players are banged up this time of year so don't give me injury excuses.

If it made sense to shoot for the playoffs, because there was so much experience to be had for the players and the culture around the team had to be changed right now, why stop now? I mean this is the reason why we were told that player's development had to be put on the back burner.

I don't care about any development except chandler in the group and i think he has been developed nicely this year. I want Eddy Curry out there for 25 minutes a night, i don't care how bad he looks we just need to play him.

Duhon can relax with Lee and anyone else that is injured, we **** our future up with each win. Walsh screwed up our draft pick this year and winning puts us further away from adding talent

I'll say you're right... but some of us, such as myself, were holding onto the false hope that a new GM and a new coach could get these bums to play winning ball

They have come close. There record isn't much different, but there have been a number of big time trades made and shuffling new players.

We have lost a number of close games and folded down the stretch. It's hard to give this team credit, but they have been right there with the magic, lakers, blazers, and many other elite teams and just can't hold on.

Hard to disagree.
The results and level of competitions reached with random ever changing group of second-to-third level NBA players is amaizing.
This team under other coach will probably win 15-20 games at best (with luck 23).
23 amd 33 are Knicks numbers.

8 is a Knick number too. That's our spot in the draft.

This is where the busts are drafted?

Not at all. We got Sweetney and Frye at that spot.

NBA Draft Analysis: Best/Worst Drafting Teams
http://www.82games.com/bestdraftingteams.htm
An analysis of the past 20 drafts. Guess what team is at the bottom of the list?

At least we did OK in the 1985 draft.

My sense is that you didn't see the sarcasm dripping from his text.

MY hope at this point is that we play hard and play well, get superior coaching from MDA, but lose every remaining game in the last second because of a terrible call from an official. This way the Knicks get a better draft pick while also gaining the approval of fans, who will be impressed by their pride, effort, and play, even as they are losing because of inept officiating.

The problem is this team does not have the type of young players who you can do a "playing for the future" type of "tank" with. Chandler is probably the only guy who will be on this team from the group you list above 3 years from now, and playing Nate, unless he promises to keep to a ratio of 1 shot attempt for every assist made, is not going to improve team chemistry or his chance of becoming the player some people think he can become.

We simply do not have a team with enough young (<23) players who have promising ability and need the playing time to develop.
