He has missed 90% of the season with injuries and off-court issues. On most players they would just come back stronger next yr. But with Curry there is always the question of his passion and dedication for the game of basketball.

Can the Knicks just stop him from having a vacation and force him to stay here, train & workout for the majority of the offseason with multiple people watching over him making sure that he is at a certain weight and shape by the start of next season since he wasted this season for us?

Or would that be some type of breach of union rules or something?

Eddy Curry should be beaten with broomsticks until he opts out of his contract.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

The knicks should give him a target for weight for the start of training camp and if he comes in 1 ounce over, we should void his contract and let him and the players league hire lawyers.

Can't void his contract if it contains no stipulation of that sort. Unfortunately, it doesn't. Thank Isiah. Isiah is the gift that keeps on giving.

absolutely not... the Knicks should make him commit to an offseason conditioning program to whip his fat butt into shape... he's had enough time off... ain't no one here who could take off this much time from work & still be granted a vacation from their place of employment.

Curry should come into camp in shape and its D'Antoni's job of whipping him into shape in Camp. D'Antoni did him no favors this year and it didn't work. Next season D'Antoni should just work him endless in practice and play him the entire 48 minutes in preseason games. Early in the next season D'Antoni should make him log heavy minutes 40 minutes per game for 25 straight games.

it ain't MDA's job to whip him into shape, it's Curry's job to take responsibility for himself, be a professional & live up to his damn contract... why does anyone have to tell this guy to work on his conditioning? the man's making $10 mil a year, he should have his own personal nutritionist & conditioning coach on his personal payroll helping him do this if he's too much of a fatbody to take care of this himself.

The only vacation Curry should be allowed to take is to a weight-loss camp.

You want production out of Curry so as to trade him or get some sort of contribution out of him thenits in MDA's best interest to whip himin to shape since we already know that Curry won't do it on his own.

that's the franchise's responsibility, not the coach's... the Knicks have a conditioning coach on the payroll.

The coach is part of the franchise. He has the most in put to the GM and to the staff.

if that's the case shouldn't we put the onus on Donnie Walsh since he's MDA's boss? u can't run a franchise that way... u have to be able to delegate responsibility to others & they need to be accountable as do the players themselves... MDA can't micromanage every single issue, he needs to focus this offseason on scouting players & working w/Walsh on ways to upgrade the roster... Curry needs to take responsibility for himself & the Knicks' conditioning coach needs to work with him to make sure he's ready to start next year in shape... of course MDA has to talk w/Curry & make sure he understands this, but he can't be there taped to his hip everytime he's working out & overseeing things.

Go Duke

Established in 1969, the Duke Diet and Fitness Center has a long-established reputation among the most highly respected treatment centers in the world for individuals who are overweight and who have a sedentary lifestyle. The primary reason people seek our expertise is for help achieving sustainable weight loss. But what sets us apart from other programs is our attention to the bigger picture. Yes, weÕre skilled in weight management, but we also guide patients to substantially increase physical activity - which is equally important as eating healthfully. And we utilize the best available medical information to assure our clients learn strategies conducive to weight management while maximizing overall health. We strive to reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer, to minimize disability from arthritis and chronic pain, to build stamina, mobility and lung function, while managing stress, and improving mood.

Ours is an ÒimmersionÓ approach to lifestyle change. People seeking lasting changes in their lives join us for two to four weeks or longer to experience healthful eating and safe exercise. This experience is combined with an intensive program of individual assessments and treatment sessions, group classes, and activities that reinforce the adoption of healthy lifestyle strategies. Our patients gain confidence and learn skills to make changes that will endure. Virtually all our clients see results within days. Along with weight loss, our clients report improvements in mobility, energy, and mood. We typically document improvements in blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol levels, along with other parameters used to monitor health. To help assure that beneficial changes are sustained when people return home, we offer a ÒLifestyle Coaching Ó option - a 6 month program of regular telephone contacts with our licensed clinical social workers, experienced in counseling and coaching to support healthy lifestyles.

Our program is not for everyone. It requires a significant investment in time, money and energy. Those who have not given serious attention to less intensive approaches should perhaps try those first. While we provide a comfortable facility, with a warm and supportive ambience, excellent food, and amenities such as massage therapy, be assured that the Diet and Fitness Center is not a spa. This is a place for folks who are serious about charting a new path to better health.

That is what lawyers are for. Whether or not there is a clause, its common sense that he should be in shape to fulfill he's duties.

Curry has asked for an advance, he is hurting for money. I'm all for Curry being sensitive, but I think Walsh ought to threaten him & his agent. And when they say you'll never get away with it, the players union blah blah blah, Walsh should just say 'We'll see'.

Hmm... Vacation.
All his life is vacation.
Then he will go back to hell to be boiled and eaten by devils (Not NJ Devils ).
To make them feel good he is working on his meat and fat parts to be delicious.

does it really matter? we no longer own that pick... move on... we can't let the fear of what Utah's pick will turn into drive our actions here... we gotta do what's best for this franchise & help the longterm future improve, not make moves to try & eek out a playoff berth so that somehow the draft pick we already lost ends up being a high lottery choice.
