Since our record might be 2-10 by Saturday, There's a good chance that a shakeup could go down.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

...and considering their respective win/loss records, that's a damn disgrace.

If Rivers is getting Fired, why?

Orlando was the envy of knick fans last year, and this guy lost his team.

Before I run and hire him, I would want to know what is the real deal?

He has no point guards, and his GM did not get him one. But the team is kind of like, THE KNICKS>>>>>>>>>>>

The "NEW YORK ATTITUDE" or the fact he once played here (as an overpaid twilight of career guard, as usual) means nothing if he can't communicate with his players.

Does his system work with the assistants we have here. Is it fair to them to bring him in?

I know the fan is all about making the team better, but there are many considerations. Im not saying no by any means, but there are many a reason for these things.

Dolan can plenty screw things up without making rash coaching changes.

THE PROBLEM AT HAND MUST BE SOLVED WITH A HIGHER LEVEL OF THINKING THAN THAT IN WHICH IT WAS CREATED: ALBERT EINSTIEN

Digruntled Superstar. Thats the reason for Doc to be fired. T-Mac wants him out. Why, only T-Mac will tell you. He hasn't lost his team but he lost his superstar. That happens with superstars you know. It happened with Magic Johnson, Kareem and Pat Riley, It happened with Doug Collins and Jordan in Bulls land. It happened to Pat Ewing and Riley. It happened to Shaq, Kobe and Del Harris. This is part of the evolution of getting to the next level. If Flip Suanders on the T-wolves fails to get the Wolves out of first round it will happen to him. Doc peaked the team out to it potential and the cycle of players not listening after a while comes around. They need a new voice for them to listen to.

I hear you Playa but we already know how you feel about JVG. Why are you hitting us with your hate over and over again. Your gospel has already been spread to us and we know. Now its time to stop and focus on other issues.

Doc woudl be great knicks coach. Seems to be a great communicator/leader ... and a winner. We know he can handle NY media, and we know he's excellent at getting the most out of role players.

Shame on TMac if he's trying to engineer Doc's firing. TMac always struck me as a fairly level-headed guy, but, when you think about it, he did force Toronto to trade him because he couldn't share the ball with his cousin and this year he made that stupid comment about the Knicks' folding (true, but not bright to say when you're about to play them).

He can have Chaney as far as I'm concerned.

Enough with knocking JVG-take a look which team has the best defense. The offense isn't shabby either. The little man is abig time coach. Period-end of story. If you don't think so fine but keep it to yourself-the numbers dont lie.

Based on what the Magic have done under Rivers, it looks like he's a .500 coach... nothing more, nothing less.

Looking around at who's available... I see Doug Collins (has gone on the air saying he doesn't want to coach right now), Doc Rivers (as discussed in this thread), Fratello (IMHO a very nice choice for this team), Brendan Malone (wtf has he ever done?), Lon Kruger (interesting addition to the Knicks' staff)...

A bunch of other former NBA players probably would be interested, including John Starks (is he ready?!), Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Kurt Rambis (is he an assistant on the Lakers now?)

Doc was FIRED, last night!

I think he lost McGrady. Too bad, he had so much promise. Let's see if he can get another job and make amends. NY needs some of his fire.

More specifically, let's see if the Knicks management is bold enough to fire Chaney and grab Rivers...

DOC has class & will not except a job mid season by watching some else get fired just to hire him. He will go back to broadcasting until the summer so then he can start from scratch & put in his system with the team of his choice. I think it will be the KNICKS if we don't make the playoffs !!! As as bonus DOC would love to STICK it to the magic by taking the KNICKS to a much higher level then the MAGIC !!! VENGENCE IS THE SWEETEST NECTAR !!!
