Yeah so check the scenerio.....

Money....teams are looking to slash salary. Al and Duhon would be on expiring deals next season....not to mention the Nuggets have been trying to clear out all of the excess contracts....they will be in need of a back up point guard behing Chancey, cuz their current back-ups carter and hart are free agents.

btw...the salaries match.

Question...as far as production....how much better is Carmelo to Al Harrington? I mean Al has proved he can be a consistant 20pt scorer. A move like this could allow the Nuggests to think about adding more help since Al and Duhon are off the books in a year.

ok now....Carmelo is definately better than Al harrington...he adds a go to guy, a guy that we hope can take over a game consistantly. At least we can hope...

aside from that....if Carmelo is in NY then the Knicks can forget about Lebron and try to finally build around what they have.

A more realistic scenario has a Lee and Chandler package going to Denver, although I'd love to hold on to Chandler and substitute someone else --- but thats what we would probably be looking at. And I would do it in a heartbeat.

I dunno how more realistic your scenerio is.....especially since denver has K-mart and Kleiza.

Still the arguement does suggest that the Knicks can actually meet up with the denver people order some papa johns and go back and forth discussing deals with each other.

K-Mart's definitely coming to us.

Yeah, the Knicks have plenty of assets to make this work. We are a very attractive trading partner now.

Well clean it up cuz Camelo and Kmart combined does not match up with a resigned Lee, Nate, chandler and draft picks......so come up with a something that would work salary wise.

I'm not doing all that shyt, I dont get paid for this. I'm just talking about an overall package. You can do all kind of slick stuff, adding and substituting to make it work as long as its reasonably close.

You have to give Denver a superstar in return that is why I am sending them Nate. He is great for attendance and Jersey sales too.

Carmello is an all star in the prime of his career. He's a stud. If I am Denver my first proposal would be Lee sign and trade, Chandler, our draft pick this year (we draft who they tell us to then trade his rights) Harrington and Duhon for Carmello and KMart. Thats close to the $30mm those two combine to make.

Thats pretty much what they would want. Though we would probably be able to take there draft pick back.

If we did do that we would still have more cap space in 2011 with Kmart, Curry & Jeffries coming off the books. But we would only have Nate & Melo & possibly Denvers draft pick players for the future.

Melo, Nate and filler is enough to make the 'offs, and hold down the fort until 2011 when you could potentially add two major free agents.

This is why the development of Gallo is so important, or should I say the '08 draft. If our 08 pick was a further along, we would be in such better shape.
