They really did start playing not to lose. They were trying to move the ball around the perimeter like they did in the first half, but Nova really tightened up and their passes weren't as crisp. It looked *exactly* like the Patriot League Championship game, except Nova is much better opponent...
I didn't hear that compliment... but Carr was out of his mind. And great to hear a compliment like that because Carr was just awesome. That one shot where he ran and start his shooting motion with his back to the basket from three was the single greatest shot I've seen from an AU player and probably ever will. That was AWESOME.
To see so many quality seniors go is tough, but I was loving all the great things the announcers were saying. Jay Bilas made the program seem great. And here's the thing, if you're a player that values education and can play at the Clemsons or Gonzagas of the world but only get 10-15 minutes off the bench, doesn't AU become more appealing? They hung in tough against Nova and Tenn for 35 minutes apiece in the tourney, so if you're that type of player maybe you can make a name for yourself for getting AU over the hump.
At least I tell myself they can get over the hump because otherwise I'm going to be real, real sad--between them and the crappy New York Knicks

Yeah, it was pretty nice hearing the announcers talk up our program. Great point on getting players from bigger programs that want more PT. Our showing last year and especially this year can only help in recruitment, as long as Jeff Jones stays.
I never thought we'd ever see them play in the tournament at all, so I'm not going to say that they can't get over the hump now.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System
