Hefty tag, Briggs, though I do agree about Nash being a Knick.

Nash is a selfless individual who has already earned so much and achieved the highest individual honors in the sport we all love (basketball). Look for him to come over for a little less than 5 years and much less than 32 million. He will be a wonderful backup, and also instrumental in our championship run of 2010-2011.

backup??? to who? guy's averaging 15 & 10 this year as a PG... he's not backing up anybody... if the Knicks are lucky enough to sign him for a MLE contract he'll be starting bank on that one.

TMS, that would mean that the Knicks' plan is to bring a 36 year old point guard to be the starter for a championship-caliber team... I don't see Nash starting on his next team, regardless of where he goes..I don't know.

Did you see that there's speculation that the Suns could cut him loose?

right now he's still an elite level PG in the NBA... he'll be starting for at least another couple seasons at least IMO.

He might even be coming this summer.

Next year will start his serious decline. In two years he wont be recognizable. His withering little body is being held together by glue and string by this point.

He's only getting through this year by IQ and guile.

5 years is a bit too long for a guy his age, but you could see him coming here to reunite with MDA for 2-3 years (team option on 3rd year?) and he would be a perfect mentor for Tyreke Evans or any other PG we pick up in this draft.

IF you think Nash won't start here...your nuts.
Please answer the question on who he'll be backing up. I would love to hear who you think would make Dantoni sit Nash.
Nash would be a significant upgrade at the PG position.
Duhon would be his back up. You know how Nash goes to the bench at like the 2 minute mark in the 1st and 3rd quarter. His averages this year say he's still an elite PG.
Cats is crazy.

A player like Nash would make Gallo, Chandler and Al sooo much better.

Get a big who can roll to the basket and you're set.

Watching Larry Sanders and his gumby arms grab alleys from Nash would be awesome.

I still think Nash has alot to offer and him reuniting with MikeD would really give him a boost. Nash is a tremendous athlete and I think can play productively for another 3-4 years.

u know what i find funny is people talking about premier NBA players like Steve Nash & Amare Stoudamire like they would either be backups to guys like Nate Robinson or that they wouldn't give up a David Lee to acquire them... it's some crazy ass sheit i tell u.

take a look at how much better the Phoenix Suns are than our Knicks record-wise playing in a much tougher conference & division w/Nash & Amare as their building blocks w/all their coaching drama & inner turmoil that happened this year to boot, & some guys wanna build around Nate & D Lee here in NY hoping to get this team to championship contention someday because they wanna hold onto our homegrown "superstars"

put down the crack pipes fellas... seriously.

Seriously...

Nash is averaging 15pts/10asts/50% shooting in an OFF YEAR.

If this were 2005 I would agree with you fam. But Nash and Stoudamire are on the way down...especially Nash. Arent they out of the playoffs now anyway???

And what kind of conversation would we have been having about Nash's worth, say around '99-'00...Lee and Nate are hitting their primes kid.

This team would be better than .500 with Nash at PG.

perhaps, but 2008-09 is not the argument...are you trying to give him a 5 year deal???

Is a 38, 39, 40 year old Nash --- with his body and his mileage going to make the Knicks better?

I think a 3 year deal is adequate and I'm pretty sure would be very productive throughout.

I'm not even the biggest Nash fan around, but I do know he's a damn good PG and the line of players that would love to play with him goes from NYC to LA.

I think Nash has at least 3 good seasons left. I also don't think anyone will be giving him a 5 year deal.

Also, don't forget that Nash spends his offseasons in NYC. He absolutely loves it here, and I think deep down he's been itching to play here.
