Seems to be shooting up mock draft lists. Dont the knicks already have an offensive minded power forward with decent rebounding skills who cant play defense?

Right now I'll be angry if he ends up as the pick.

Am I missing something?

why does your post seem to assume the Knicks are thinking about going after this guy?

NBA Draft.net is the only site that's really hot on this guy.

It's an Isiah mindset. Nobody's heard of him, let's shock the world.

Offensive minded tweener forward... also an Isiah mindset.

I posted about him last week. I think he's a PF/C in this system. Very varied offensive game. Good face up J. Can be a big time scorer in this kind of O.

we need to draft a bruising banger down low who can block some shots, not another finesse player.

Exactly, if the Knicks are thinking forwards, they need an enforcer. Not another David Lee who can shoot from further away

This guy could be a star, tho. We can get a bruiser in a trade...draft for skill, not need and let the chips fall where they may.

Thats good that he's an Isiah type player, given that Isiah was one of the better drafters of his era.

He's got talent. I threw up a post on this guy a while ago after his 40+ pt. explosion against Kansas. I was like, damn, who's the hell is this guy? He can definitely score the ball in a variety of ways. A week after that big performance, all of a sudden he started popping up on some of the draft mocks out there... 1st time I saw him (that Kansas game), he reminded me of a poor man's Kevin Durant. Briggs commented that he reminded him of David West and I can see that too - think a combination of the two. Not sure if he's the right guy for us but he's talented offensively and he can rebound. Personally I'd like them to either go after the best available PG and for me that's Teague, Warren or Maynor (provided we don't give Marcus Williams a tryout anytime soon - he could be an option here man I'm tella ya, a real diamond in the rough) or the biggest, best available 2-way big man. But this kid Brackins wouldn't be a terrible pick by any means. Plus/NBA-ready offensive talent right now with ability to improve even further as a rebounder and defender...

I don't want anybody who has, "stuggles defensively" in their scouting report. Not with our Lottery pick anyway.

Fine, what's your take on Teague? I've been watching all of these PG prospects and he is the one where I keep coming away from the games wondering why he's so highly rated.

Warren, Maynor, Evans and this dude Jerome Randle from Cal were the most exciting PG's that I've seen this year so far. Maryland's Vasquez is interesting.

If the Knicks ever had their eye on this kid Brackins, I think they could make him work as either a replacement for David Lee or as a guy to pair up with Lee. He's more finesse than physical right now and he needs to develop into more of a complete big man but at 6'10" 230 some-odd lbs., he's talented enough offensively right now where he shouldn't have too many problems getting his offense in the NBA. Say they went with Brackins in the draft and had plans to deal Lee off for other assets. I could learn to live with that. I don't care how much Lee has raised his ppg average this year, Lee's not a scorer. This kid Brackins will be an infinitely better scorer and he has the potential to be maybe not as good a rebounder as Lee but a good one (I see 10 rpg potential), and he could develop into at least as good a defender as Lee probably a better one.

As for Teague, I like him a lot, although he's really reckless with the ball and it concerns me. I know Wake had a nice comeback the other night and he played a big part but dude, in that 1st half, he was throwing the ball all over the place. He needs to work on that. But as a scorer, a penetrator, he's top shelf.

Briggs, not to downplay Mullens. If we want to take on a project center, fine.

Where are his crazy stats though? He doesn't put up big block or rebound numbers in the games that I've looked at. I haven't been able to see a whole game of his. All of his highlights are just layups. Not impressed by that.

You compare that to Sanders, another raw center prospect, and it's not even close. Dude got 20 boards and 7 blocks the other night.

PS - Johnnies are down 36-10 at the half
